Sorry, double thread. oops

After gaining a combined 69 yards between them. KJ had a 39 yard reception that set up the tying score. Rookie RB Buck Allen whom many believe was drafted for his receiving ability gained 30 yards in the air plus another 30 yards on the ground. He started the season as 3rd string RB. ELSEWHERE; Marlon and Maxx were non-factors today. They need to step up big. Flacco didn't throw an interception for first time in 10 games and the team won. Joe was easily the player of the game. Journigan got a sack forcing a 3 and out. After completing 67 percent of his kicks over the last three weeks (4-for-6), Justin Tucker converted all five of his field goal attempts Sunday, including a 39-yard game-winner as time expired. Baltimore needed a lot of points to outscore the league’s best offense, and Tucker provided 17 of them. Sam Koch was outstanding as well, as he averaged 61 yards per punt. One of his punts was downed at the San Diego 3-yard line with 9:28 left in the fourth quarter. Although the Ravens were losing at the time, that play flipped field position and caused the Chargers to nearly give up a safety (twice). Baltimore’s coverage units continued their stellar play as they “allowed” minus-2 yards in San Diego return yardage. Stat of the game: This game was the first time in Flacco’s last 10 games that he did not throw an interception and the team won. That is all. FROM RSR

How about KJ and Buck. They had 60 yards between them as our biggest strategic stealth weapons.
-
Damn, we just lost the first pick of the draft, which is what I wanted.

Well, I dreamed for a beautiful blonde once and got one. Actually several.

With a SB trophy as recent as 3 years ago, there's nothing wrong with the front office. SF fell apart too after losing their SB team to FA and retirement and I read an article that even Seatle's window is closing now. They'll go the way of GB, NY and Ravens after winning the SB. It's the system called the salary cap allowed by the CBA. It keeps teams from staying on top forever except for NE but they're in an easy division with the best QB and coach in the game but they get by cheating a lot. The front office is ranked in the top 2 of 32 teams placing the 2d most dominant team on the field since in the last 15 years. That said, all of Ozzie's assistants have failed as GMs like Savage, The Shack, Kokinis. DeCosta scares the shit out of me when Ozzie leaves. He told me at a Nest 1 meeeting a week after the Oher draft after I told him he fucked up that draft and he should have drafted Nicks that Nicks wasn't as good a althlete as Oher. I said what. Well all Nicks did was become a great weapon for NY and being the go to guy in their first big SB victory and getting into another one. Ravens didnt even sign Oher when his rookie contract expired or Kruger the Beast. Yea, they got SB rings but Ravens won in spite of them. Oher was beat by his man on JOe's mile high miricle pass but he side stepped him and moved up in the pocket throwing a bomb to JJ for the win. Oher allowed a sack in SB 47. Kruger was seldom used getting 2 sacks. He was pissed about only getting a few situational snaps but Cleveland is doing the same thing yet paying him $45M to be a siutational rusher. In his first year he did nothing there. But DeCosta is being over paid now as much as most GMs to keep him from leaving so he gets Ozzie's job.

Great find # 82. Thanks. Like I posted above, let's wait 2 or 3 years before calling him a bust. Six or seven games misses is hardly a bust. ILMAO
-
Yea, I saw the article but that doesn't mean it's true in every case. My point is it takes at least 3 years to show a player is a bust. Kruger ddid nothing til his final year and got a big pay day with Clowns. But sitting out the season ala Dez Bryant and others doesn't mean he's a bust. Let's wait another year or two.
-
He was scheduled to return in middle of October. He started practicing and then he re-injured it again so I have no idea what his time table is. This is the time for it to happen with the rest of the team doing so bad. Then maybe we get him all for next year. Missing 6 or 7 games because of an injury hardly constitutes a bust. ILMAO Now if you're Kindle and they give you several years and you still can't take the field then you're a bust.
-
I've been saying they're just 5 plays and 15 mins from a perfect record and Mon night was no different. They're in every game. It's just an unusual season as many teams are getting hit with injuries and have been since training camp. I'm proud of them for trying under dire circumstances and have new respect for HARBs.
-
Thanks Crave. Thats what HARBs said that night in Pissburgh. He didn't even see it from where he stood. That explains it but the guy upstairs should be fired for not telling him to challenge it. It cost us the game..
-
Great post and I agree with everything. Someone is leaving, that's for sure, Maybe Pees. Game management has always been my prob with HARBs plus he never called a game. Billick called the games when he fired his coord. I remember one of HARBs first games in PIssburgh where Mason caught a TD that would have won the game but the refs said no TD as he bobbled the ball running out of bounds. The replay on TV should he had in in bounds but we were all screaming at HARBs for not challenging the play. The call lost the game for us. Even in the Clowns game. Not sure this is even challengeable by the coach but the ball ruled a TD for the Clowns in 4th qtr hit the ground and the guy scooped it up. We're yeeling for HARBs to challenge it. The ball was clearly dropped and on the ground but the ref was standing behind the receiver. Piss poor management from HARBs again. As for silly talk, I was just asking a question. Bisciotti was pissed the last time we missed the playoffs but was fair. With 1 win, he's really pissed now and just might fire HARBs. I doubt it but he's pissed off enough to. That's for sure.
-
I haven't seen anything from Bisciotti yet but he must be really pissed. Remember after the 8-8 season after winning the SB. He was pissed then but said he has to be fair. This is the first season for John going .500 but strongly implied it better not happen again. He probably won't but might fire Pees. Many of us think he twisted HARBs arm to fire CAM although HARBs says that was his decision. I'm just asking. But now Ravens are the worse team with just 1 win so Bisciotti has to be even more pissed after spending up to the CAP ceiling every year. He pays for everything Ozzie and HARBs need including paying the most for scouts and not joining a combine like most teams. What does everyone think?

Hopefully, it's just a bump in the road or a hiccup. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eisenberg-Ravens-New-Goal-Is-To-Limit-Disappointment-To-One-Season/3696bb13-b787-4d4a-a92d-f7fabce4fc3e

He apologized. What's wrong with that.
-
Trolling again Smurf? Yes, Ravens were playing by the rules as always. Suggs later recanted saying he "mis-spoke" and used the term only after the interviewer used it. Ray said there are no bounties here. REad and weep. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2008-12-10-ravens-steelers_N.htm
-
True but they didn't try to pay everyone. They got rid of Boldin after the SB season for refusing to restructure and got rid of Pollen too. They also let Ellerbe and Kruger after the SB. Ellerbe blitzed KAP at the end of the SB forcing him to throw over Crabtree's head in the end zone. They let Paul Kruger to too. This year they got rid of Ngata and his $8M while another $8M counts vs the cap in dead money. So the Ravens don't try to pay everyone, just the ones they need and they would have lost Flacco if they hadn't met his demands and GB then signed their guy to even more money and someone else got more money after Joe signed his mega contract.
-
Losing it in the last min of play is like kissing your sister. No excitement at all. No prize. No bragging rights.
-
And don't forget, Ravens have had more success beating them in the POs in NE than anyone winning 2 or 4 PO games up there. Not too bad and it took a lot of cheating, trickery and bending of the rules for them to win those 2 games vs a banged up team.
-
I meant to say this side of NE and it helps to have the best QB in the game with weapons but don't forget, NE is in an easy division w/o any competition (certainly not tough like AFC-N) so they usually get into the POs but there were years when even they missed. I think Brady has only missed POs twice - 02 and 08. NFL.com has Kelly and Payton as to candidates for USC.
-
And speaking of disasters, those were great programs at one time that fell from the top. It happens a lot but especially in the NFL with the CAP, injuries and retirements, the SB champs don't stay champs long. Ravens have such a great organization and great at drafting that they got into the POs 5 straight years, 6 of 7 years after dismantling their SB 47 team that came within those years.
-
Well that's the rumor Dan Patrick started on his national show. When your 1-4, all types of conspiracy rumors start when you fall from the top in such a short time. Mikie Prestone doesn't think it will happen. He's too close to the owner and Ozzie and has no connection to USC whatsoever. But who would have thunk Jim would leave the 49ers to MIchigan a year ago. http://russellstreetreport.com/2015/10/16/ravens-links/harbaugh-to-usc-rumor-is-fantasy/

I'm not sure where it is. According to this it's closed but not sure if this is accurate. After Shula's wife,Dorothy died, he remarred a couple of years later to one of the richest women in the country and lives in West Palm Beach, FLA, the most richest zip code district in the country. THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Shulas Steak House Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel101 W. Fayette St. (N. Liberty St.) Send to PhoneBaltimore, MD 21201410-385-6601 The merger certainly made the NFL what it is today. The 58 sudden death game made things what they weretoday. That's when many cities wanted pro teams butNFL wouldn't let them in so they formed the AFL butBaltimore put the NFL on the map and then it f*cked usduring the expansion derby in 95. So a bunch of cities formed the AFL headed up by the oilrich families in Texas of Bud Adams who owns theTEnn Titans and Lamar Hunt who owns KC. He movedfrom Dallas to KC later on and Adams moved to Tenn.It also helped to have a contract with NBC which competedwith CBS and the NFL. When the merger was completed thatleft ABC w/o a game so Art Modell came up with MOndy NightFootball and the rest is history. That's why Art was able to moveto Baltimore when owners like Bidwell and Kraft were blocked outby the comish and Cooke who owned the skins. Art was the onlyowner powerful enough to run thru them with all the favors owedhim. He made billions for the NFL negotiating the rich TV contractsof the 70s and 80s as football passed basebal as the nationalgame. Adams and Hunt were both young playboys when they bought teamsand formed the AFL. They used their family's oilbusiness to finance the league and pay the stars to keep themfrom going to the NFL. They scored Billy Cannonmearly on then Namath to a $500,000 contract. Thatwas a lot of bread back in those days. NY Jets won the right to sign Namath while St Louis won theNFL right. The afl rigged it for Jets to get picked toSonny Wuerblen rich pockets. Today, $500,000 is min wagefor the rookies so who do you think would get him,no St Louis. Poor thinking by NFL. John Madden who coached OAK asked Hunt's father if heknew he lost millions running the Texans and the entire AFLand he said he has millions left in his piggy bank. That's whenMadden knew the AFL would survive. One thing, the AFL didn't get our Bubba Smith in the 66 draftor Dick Butkis as George Halas' deep pockets signed him butthey got enough stars to force a merger.

Speaking of Weeb and the 58 game, he sent his assistant to NY to get on the roofs of the bldgs across street from Yankee stadium to record their practices. Colts played Giants early in regular season and Earl wanted to know if they added any new plays in the playbook. He didn't like surprises. Winner was also his son in law but the Colts owner promised to take care of his family if he got caught-lol. So he took pics and notes and reported there were no new plays. Arty said in his book that the CIA would have won the cold war a lot sooner if they hired Paul Brown and Weeb as spies. They had plenty of experience sending guys up telephone poles to record practices. In fact, when Rosey hired Weeb he really wanted Paul Browns offensive coord, Blanton Collyer who would eventually succeed Brown when Art fired him but Brown needed him and wouldn't let Rosey hrie him. He must not have liked Weeb because he recommended him and he got the job. When he left he took the Browns draft board with him since he worked on it and knew everyone they wanted. Brown was furious when players they wanted went off the board to the Colts. Once such player was HOFer Ray Berry one of the best receivers ever. Brown yelled and screamed accusing Weeb of stealing his draft but Weeb said, who me? Enter Bellicheat whose first job was with the Baltimoer Colts in the 70s under Marchibroda. I'm sure he heard all those stories and did a lot of cheating himself during his famous career accented by Spy Gate and more recently deflate gate. When Weeb died, Marchibroda had a moment in silence and prayer in the Ravens locker room and asked how many knew about Weeb. Not one player knew who he was but he was the winning coach of the two most important games ever played - the 58 game and SB 3. Shula was of course another famous ooach to go thru Charm City. He was the def coord for the Lions when Rosey fired Weeb in 62. Weeb was famous for building championship teams like the Colts and Jets but let them run down after they won it all. Colts didnt' win from 60-62 so Weeb was fired. Rosey asked Gino whom he loved like a son if he knew any good coached to recommend and he said yea, Shula. Rosey said wasn't he that DB we had here several years ago. Gino said yea back in 54. He shared a house with Fatso and 2 other guys but the Lions beat the Colts twice that year and Gino said Shula's prints were all over the victories. So Rosey called Shula and asked if he was interested in the job and said you were recommended. Shula said sure and came to Bmore. I remember the beat up Ford station wagon he drove up to the stadium in as we lived several blocks behind it. He didnt' even know who recommended him til he got here and someone said his old pal - Gino. He made Gino a player/coach. I was standing on a cruise ship in Miami 10 yrs ago and looked up and saw a huge sky scrapper that said the Shula Hotel, owned by him. He has a string of steak hosues around the country. I laughed remembering the beat up Ford he drove to Bmore in. He came a long way baby and made Miami into the Latin resort capital of the western hemispher. Before it was just a sleepy boring village.

Thanks, man. I've died a million deaths over the game and still have the memories and read all the books and seen the tapes.
