Interesting article but to list the last player drafted as a bust is a stretch. He wasn't expected to make the team as few few do and he was Art's pick. Art gave the drafting duties to Oz but wanted to make one pick for old times sake so it the Mr. Irrelevant. There were also some 6th and seventh rounders. Not as many make teams from there as well. Ozzie's second round has always been his worse round but he scored recent guys like Ray Rice and Torrey Smith and Jernigan last year so he's on a roll. I'd list Swan Edwards as a big bust, the first player Ravens took after they gave up that #1 pick for Boller. NE got Vince Wilfork with that #1 pick. We get Swan who didn't even play til his last year and made some plays and left for Free agency. I'd list Kruger the Beast as another big bust who did nothing every year til his last year and only 1/2 year after Suggs returned getting 9 sacks. He was used only in situations. Guys like to point to his sacks in the SB but had they left him in the entire game like he wanted he would have lost the game. They can run all over him and did. Oher is another bust after showing some promise his rookie year he didn't do much afterward switching to LF and finally back to RT. Fans like to blame that as a reason for his failures. Gruden blamed his brain said he stands, there w/o a clue as to what to do like when TP crept up on him. That would have been time for one of his many fast start penalties but he wasn't smart enough to think of that. He got beat bad on Joe's miracle high throw in Denver but Joe side steps the rusher and steps up in the pocket to drill the ball for the winning TD. We won the SB in spite of Oher and his giving up a sack during that game. Ravens didn't even try to sign either one and they left and now Oher is out of football and blaming the book written about him. Kruger was bitter about lack of playing time as a #2 draft pick but Ozzie said he had 4 HOFers around him and still couldn't stay on the field the entire game as a #2 pick.

LOL - Rex tried to trade with Ravens for Tyrod Taylor

Whatever you say Sport, but I'm going along with VMax and say maybe they win 4 games with Tyrod. Maybe. And Rex will recommend a new QB - again like he did with the others. -

You need to re-read my posts. They hired him because of his personality and because of what they think is his winning philosophy. You skipped the part I said he never won a championship and has a losing record of -4 under .500. That's not hate, just the truth. Bart became a lemon under his system after you said he turned out stars and Reed should have retired when the Ravens released him. He didn't last long in Houston or NY but NY signed him on his say so. That's just the sad truth. Of course he's gonna back his QB and not throw him under the bus til he got rid of them in short order after being being proven wrong for wanting them in the first place. No hate on Rex, I loved him as an asistant which is where he should have stayed. I'd still love him here but he's not head coaching material and wont last long in Buffalo. But whatever you say sport. -

So the GM gets fired by giving in to Rex wanting Dirty Sanchez. I posted links where Rex was excited about all of them - even Tebow. The only reason Rex wasn't fired is because the owner loved him like a son and that's what Jets fans tell me. They were also blown away with his personality, what a nice guy he was and down to earth he was and what he wanted to do with his life. They wanted a second interview immediately. They also liked his approach to winning a championship? He never won any. LOL This is why Buff has always been Buff for so long. Rex didn't even have a winning percent. He was -4 under.500 average. Games over .500: -4 Super Bowl Wins: 0 Overall Championships: 0 Conference Championships: 0 Division Championships: 0 -

Damn - If the Sullivans got $1.1B for the Bills who never won a SB with that lousy stadium and finished at the bottom so many decades, the Ravens would sell for at least $2B as one of the most valued franchises in sports and a dominant NFL team for over a decade with a pair of SB trophies. Buff was bound to get $1B because NFL teams seldom go on sale. http://money.cnn.com/2014/09/09/news/companies/buffalo-bills-sale/ -

This link says they hired Rex for his personality,They are closer to the playoffs than in the past decade and wanted someone who has been there. He was for 2 years in NY and then went down hill after that with a couple of GMs and now Rex getting fired but they're excited in Buff. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/How-the-Bills-decided-on-Rex-Ryan-as-head-coach/aa1cc736-b6c4-4af7-bfe9-4aba573bf0fd -

As for all that lemonade Rex made out of lemons he turned Bart Scott into a lemon when he got there. AFter getting 9.5 sacks his last year in Baltiore, Scott got 1, 1.5, 1, 1 for the next 4 yrs in NY then 4.5 sacks and 2.5 his last two years. He had 14 sacks his last two years here. Scott got a total of 7 in 6 yrs in NY. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2229/bart-scott -

LOL - THIS FROM NFL.COM Since Ryan can't possibly be referring to Smith's year-plus NFL track record in calling him a great pick, he can only be referring to what he expects from Smith in the future. If Ryan can picture greatness down the road for Smith, he might be the only one. Follow Chase Goodbread on Twitter @ChaseGoodbread. -

You need to re-read my post. I didn't say Rex called the shots but let his feelings be known on players as all coaches do during the draft and Rex wanted Dirty Sanchez, Gino and Tebow and I used Kubes as an example here and he was the o-coord, not head coach but got his man. Head coaches have walked out of the war room in disgust when their didnt get their player. BTW, it wasn't Rex who was fired when their last GM was. The owner still loved Rex like a son but blamed the GM for poor decisions on draft day. Well he didn't have any gems when he signed a fossil of Ed Reed who was beaten by a 60 yard bomb from Flacco and Bart Scott who excelled here went down hill and quit in NY. -

No beef at all. I liked him as #2 and still wish he were here as that but he's never gonna be a starter of quality. Everyone said, except maybe you, that if Joe goes down for a long time the season is over and that was with Tyrod as #2. Rex has better management in Buffalo? LOL First of all the head coach tells the GM what the team needs are and on draft day they might even ask for someone like Kubes who said he needed blocking after Oz drafted 3 straight D guys and Oz gave him Gilmore who iced the wild card game in Pissburgh with a TD. Some coaches have been known to storm out of the war room when they don't get the player they want. Buff is well Buff never winning the SB, ever. They went a few times back in the 70s but never won and haven't been back since. Buff made the worse cursed cities in the country with pro sports teams along with DC with the Skins in disarray for the last 20 yrs and Minn whose Vikings never win and even Cinci whose Bungals make the playoffs but are one and done every year and Cleveland with the drive, fumble and then losing the Browns and then Bellicheat and they both win nothing but Super Bowls after moving. Buff just fired their coach who didn't last long. Buff is a grave yard for coaches. Look it up. I always said that HARBs would have been out of football a long time ago if he were in Buff w/o Ozzie feeding him all that talent. Rex got into the AFC Championship game twice his first two years in NY before it all blew apart with the lousy QBs that he picked. He's the one who wanted Gino and Sanchez. He even has Sanchez pic tattooed on his arm. -

Yea, he beat back his competition like Wenning who is no longer #3 QB on the team. Teams didn't exactly beat down Tyrod's door as a FA. Rex sure did but he beat down Dirty Sanchez and Gino's doors too whiich got him fired. Hell, he even beat down Tebow's door, the clown let go by Denver, who promptly made a circus in NY. NO wonder they fired him and Rex lasted as long as he did because the owner was loved him like a son and kept Rex when he fired the former GM. -
They also included Jesse James of Piss who hasn't played yet.

Here's the link that Billick interviewed for the Eagles job in 2013. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000126228/article/brian-billick-emerges-in-philadelphia-eagles-search -

He sure did want a new job. He said on TV not that long ago that he's damaged goods. He was intereviewed for the Eagles job before Chip Myers was brought in and signed in 2013 so Billick was interested at least then. He's content now where he is on TV but back then he wanted another job. Gruden didn't get another job either after being fired from Tampa but he was very upset when their owner, Malcom Glazer died and said he was his friend. -
When he coached Jets. Rex said if he's not the fastest QB in the league he's up there with them. He couldn't swing a deal but got Tyrod in Buffalo. Thing is, Rex liked the mobility of Sanchez and Gino Smith but neither could run and hit the side of a barn. Don't expect Rex to stay long in Buff. I still don't get how Billick couldn't get an interview early on but Rex and Jack Del Rio who served under him for SB 35 team get jobs after getting fired. http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2015/7/2/8886155/rex-ryan-tried-to-trade-for-ravens-backup-qb-tyrod-taylor

Maxx comes in at #4 with bold prediction of 45 catches, 525 yds and 7 TDs as huge target in red zone. He'll also get plenty of yards on mis-matches across with middle with Gilmore crossing from opposite end. Jesse James of Penn St is #5 for Pissburgh but they wanted Maxx and Ozzie stole him from them because they didn't have the ammo to trade up. Oz did. http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2015/7/5/8897851/top-5-tes-in-afc-north-heading-into-2015

Not after a great off-season preceded by a good PO run winning the wild card game in Pissburgh as the 4th seed and almost winning in NE in February. Everyone knows it took some bending of the rules and cheating with deflated footballs to beat them. In the offseason they signed Jimmy Smith and Forset while bringing in Arrington and Frederick Lewis to bolster the secondary. Another great draft with a blue chip receiver and TE plus some more depth to the d-line makes them even better and everyone knows about it. Peter King ranked them #1 in his power rankings. Former NE star on ESPN ranked them above his former team as 3rd best. Another writer said Ravens are one of 4 teams poised for the Super Bowl. Let the games begin. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eisenberg-2015-Ravens-Cant-Sneak-Up-On-People/6d6a2da7-c27d-470f-bbe3-b88186aaf947#

Competition for backup RB as Forsett speaks to rooks
TBird replied to TBird's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I had us penciled for the SB this time last year til JImmy went down. I said there goes the SB. The secondary was set with Jimmy and Webb but both went down. It's a miracle we got into the POs with them out picking up Melvin along the way. They won with him plus an undrafted LT for the first time ever in a wild card game but lost in NE where it took a trick play, some bending of the rules on some strange formations and deflated footballs. Melvin wasn't even playing a month before the POs. Now Webbie and Jimmy are back and they still have Melvin who is growing plus AsA, Will Hill and they added Kendrick Lewis who could force Elam out of the job. The secondary is deep. And we would have won the SB last year the way Seatle played. ONly injuries and some poor coaching motivation vs easy teams will keep us out this year. -
Also, how they got robbed of Maxx Williams. As for es posteng, nobady usis porfect grammer on a massage bord.

He was on the verge during training camp last year when an injury side lined him for the entire year. He was also injured in rookie year but so far, so good this year after great mini camp reviews. He adds a lot of depth to the defense front 7. Uses his hands well in shedding blockers. http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2015/5/14/8609587/baltimores-next-big-thing-kapron-lewis-moore

He has impacted and impressed in camp despite Mosley and D. Smith in front of him and our #2 draft choice Arthur Brown is behind him. He signed with Ravens because he knew their history of undrafted finds at LB making the team and then cashing in on big pay days like Bart Scott, Ellerbe and McClean. He knows Ravens give everyone a chance. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Zach-Orr-Continues-To-Impress/d0dd489f-255c-473d-b605-453f041646d7

Speaking of the Os, those off season moves or non-moves turned out OK. Cruz started out with 18 HRs for April and May but went into a slump in June. Don't know about last couple of days but everyone said he wouldn't hit as many HRs in that huge stadium as ours. Also his age might be catching up. Miller the guy we all wanted is now hurt and on the disabled list and no time for return in site. He had 17 saves and a 1.03 era before injuring his forearm. He got something like $40M for 4 years, I think so O's might have dodged a bullet there. Markakis settled in fine in the beginning but is in a bit of a slump. Meanwhile, our new guys are doing well and O's are on the move. They always started off slow even in the glory years.
