BENSON’S PRODUCTION,
BALL SECURITY BETTER
THAN CHRIS PERRY’S
PERRY LIKELY TO BECOME
A SALARY-CAP CASUALTY
Sunday’s NFL regular-season finale against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs could mark tailback Chris Perry’s final game in a Cincinnati Bengals’ uniform.
After five turbulent seasons, the club appears ready to cut ties with its No. 1 draft pick from 2004.
Chris PerryPerry’s contract runs through 2009, but his $1 million base salary next season doesn’t equal his production (104 carries, 269 yards, 2 TDs) from this year.
Look for him to become a salary cap casualty.
