deeshopper Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 The shark button series is standard; like fighting all the other animals. But, as far as I know, there's no way to kill the sharks. Your other observations are interesting. Quote
thundercleetz Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I pulled the trigger and ordered an X1. I bought Ghosts with it, only $47 on Amazon. Nothing out right now looks great, so I just needed something to hold me over until TitanFall comes out in March. Pretty excited to get everything set up this weekend! Quote

I got a PS4 a few weeks ago and have been having fun. So far things just look a bit better, I dont know if any of the current games were actually designed for the new systems. In the next 6 months we should start seeing some pretty cool stuff. I think both systems look great, I just got a PS4 because I had a PS2 and PS3 and want to keep playing the exclusives I am used to playing. Titanfall does look awesome. Quote

Titanfall does look awesome.I think you're right, not much out there that's superficially designed for next-gen, outside of Killzone for PS4. I never really understood the whole console wars (until South Park of course). So I agree with you both consoles look great. I was considering PS4. Their exclusives look great: Drake, The Order 1886 and Last of Us. However I've always been an Xbox guy and the TV entertainment center integration features of the Xbox stood out to me (the wife has trouble turning on my entertainment system haha and the X1 should streamline this). If I was just going from a pure gaming perspective, I probably would have gotten a PS4. Bottom line, the more multi-console games the better IMO. Quote
deeshopper Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 PS4 is disc-based right? I really wish they would make cross-platform games. It would certainly have the potential to open up the online gaming for each console. Quote

That might have been the decider for me right there. The X1 media stuff looks awesome but I am not sure I would ever use it. The TV that I game on is pretty much just used for gaming. It would be cool to have though. PS4 is disc-based right? I really wish they would make cross-platform games. It would certainly have the potential to open up the online gaming for each console. Yes, they are disc based. It would be great if Xbox users and PS users could play games online together but I dont see it ever happeneing. I dont know enough about the way they are programmed to know whether its feasable or not. I would think its possible. Quote
thundercleetz Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Got my X1 on Friday and man I love it! I am a cord cutter (no cable, only Internet, HD OTA, and Hulu Plus & Netflix) so X1 ties together my entire entertain system. My current setup is: HD OTA box with an HDMI out going into my Xbox. The Xbox goes HDMI out into my Samsung soundbar, and the soundbar goes HDMI out into my Samsung LED TV. The Xbox via IR blast turns everything on and off and can control volume. No more need for a remote! The Xbox can move seamlessly between TV, Blue Ray, games, and apps (even two two at once). As for the system itself, Call of Duty looks and sounds great. I worked through the campaign a bit. Definitely a good game for $47. Nonetheless I'm waiting for the true next gen experience, TitanFall. 1 Quote
Spen Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 How much is there to do in the present? Should I manually exit the animus now and then or will it automatically happen enough? Last game I had a bunch of present stuff to do at the end and it really dragged out. I would like to gradually do it this time. Quote

I would like to gradually do it this time. They only really pull you out two, maybe three times. I still haven't finished all of the Abstergo stuff, but it isn't as much work as previous games. There's really only one mission. The side missions are to find these blue sticky notes and hack computers. Quote
Spen Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 OK, cool. I have only been out once. Havent played that much though, just got kicked out of Havana and got my own ship. Quote
deeshopper Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Fun times. So much ahead. This is the first AC I've really continued playing after I finished the game. IMO, the achievement tasks (treasure chests and memories) are more obtainable since you don't have to buy the maps for them. Just beat the forts, and they're revealed in the quadrant around that fort. Only one time have a tried to take on a legendary ship and it was pointless. So, that forced me to do the treasure map side missions to get the ship upgrade plans. There's definitely a lot to do. Quote
Spen Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I'd rather be playing now, instead of working. Quote

Spen Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 That's what Initiates is for. On a PC or via app? I looked at the site and it looks to me like you just accept missions with objectives you complete in the game. I cannot access the site at work, too old of a browser. I havent checked the app out. Quote
deeshopper Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 On the site via the web. All it seems to really do is give you XP (experience points? I've never figured this out). But, you can also unlock content for the console game (like bonuses for outfitting your ship). Quote

deeshopper Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 So there's apparently a re-release of AC Liberation on all platforms. I think it was originally released for only PS Vita last year. Also, the DLC to play Adewale is available. I'll probably get the season pass once I finish everything in Black Flag. I thought the DLC for AC3 sucked. Quote
deeshopper Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 If you still haven't bought AC Black Flag, it's today's Best Buy deal at $25. Quote
thundercleetz Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Blah I was really excited about Thief but it got terrible reviews. Metal Gear Solid and TitanFall are the next two games. I hope they don't disappoint. Quote

thundercleetz Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I bought the new Metal Gear game for X1. It was only $30 and I downloaded directly from Xbox Live. I haven't played a Metal Gear since the first one on Playstation (loved it). Spectacular graphics, and so far I'm digging the gameplay. I feel like there could be more action animations. The first Metal gear you could choke people out and do hand to hand combat. This one you have one canned hand to hand animation which feels cheap. I hear the game is short but I plan on doing all the side missions and getting all the collects led so we'll see. Quote

I always seem to do this'd with Assassin's Creed games. I buy them, start them then lose interest. Now 6 months later its all I have been playing for the past few weeks. Quote
