vmax
John made a strong, strong statement that he did not have to make.... "This is a football day, Jeff. This is definitely a football day. I’ll address that question tomorrow. I can tell you this — Kevin [byrne, senior vice president of community and public relations] told me not to answer any questions, but I can tell you this. We work together in our organization. I’m going to go ahead and answer this question, OK? Every single football decision we make, we work together. Just like every football decision, you get together, you hash it out. Ozzie [Newsome, general manager] uses the term scrimmaging. You scrimmage it out. Everybody’s got their opinions. It’s not black and white. It’s never nuanced on anything. That decision was exactly like all the other ones. And we walked out of that room, we were united, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder, and that’s how I felt about the decision. I thought it was the right decision. And the way we handled it, all the way through, I felt like was the right way to handle it all the way through. I felt like we did the right thing, and I stand behind it. That’s all I’m going to say about it."Read more: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-john-harbaugh-defends-ray-rice-handling-says-team-got-it-right-20140921,0,7750159.story#ixzz3DzajlNCG
tsylvester
Max, let me help ya here Kevin Byrne told me I can tell you this — ( altered quote for fun), but I can tell you this. vmax
My bad Tsylv...I didn't de-code the statement using my ER Posters Manual. This is the perfect come back to the OTL article. It doesn't change the fact that they did not handle this well or perfectly. They made mistakes, as a group, but if they followed this process then they weren't sleezy or slimmey...just wrong. tsylvester
Or if they DID cover things up, then what? Odd isn't it, that only two people knew about the exact text between Biscut and Rice, yet the text comes out......Oh it comes out after the jersey buy back........ Oh there is an electronic paper trail from the Jersey PD to the Ravens office, and back again. Well after the arrest so as to show it was not Ray calling them to say he was arrested, but rather, the securty supervisor calling the PD about the recording. If Ozzie, a well respcted man in your organization tells you that Ray was completely honest about what was on the tape, (remeber, Biscut said in his canned interview, he never spoke with Rice directly), why would you not take said well respected employees word? Why would you turn around and not only make Rice a liar, but said stellar employee? Too many things Max, no matter what they say tomorrow, too many things. Yes, they screwed up in cutting Rice, now again in making him out to be a liar just to cover their idiocy.
