Redskins covering up the removed seats at FedUp Field

We’ve known for weeks that the Redskins were removing thousands of seats from the top of the 400-level at FedEx Field. And we’ve seen aerial views that showed just how many seats from how many sections had been disappeared.

After an offseason in which the Redskins removed thousands of seats from their stadium, in which radio hosts marveled at the fanbase’s lack of optimism, and in which the team’s most important and sexiest acquisition was a middle-aged dude in a suit, it probably shouldn’t have been a surprise that just 3,341 fans showed up to the first day of training camp this week.

Nor should it have been a surprise that Washington’s beloved NFL team was significantly outdrawn on Thursday by a minor-league baseball outfit called the Flying Squirrels, or that longtime observers couldn’t remember an opening-day crowd quite that small.http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2015/07/31/redskins-training-camp-fantasies/
