papasmurfbell Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/37022296/ns/sports-player_news/ According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills are in pursuit of Ravens LT Jared Gaither, and Gaither is likely to be traded before Week 1. Schefter calls Buffalo Gaither's "most likely destination." Acquiring Gaither would at least be one offseason move made by the Bills that we'd approve of. Though entering a contract year, the 26-year-old left tackle has flashed Walter Jones-esque all-around ability. Gaither does need to cut down on the penalties. He'd still be a huge upgrade in Buffalo, where the current starting left tackle (Demetrius Bell) is coming off reconstructive knee surgery. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/05/could_gaither_get_traded_to_the_bills.html Could Gaither get traded to the Bills? There are rumors circulating that Jared Gaither will get traded to the Buffalo Bills before the regular season starts, but the displaced left tackle said he hasn't heard about any possible move. Gaither was shifted from left to right tackle on the first day of the Ravens' mandatory minicamp Friday. When asked to assess his chances of being with the Ravens when the season begins, Gaither said, "Right now, it's 100 percent. I don't know anything different." Gaither said the talk won't change his daily regimen. "You just have to stay focused and be prepared for anything," he said. "You don't want to stop what you're doing and not work out [because] you're looking forward to getting traded. Then when you get traded, you won't be as good as you thought you were." With Gaither going to the right side, Michael Oher was practicing at left tackle. Asked if the move at tackles was going to be permanent, coach John Harbaugh said, "It’s going to permanent as long as it’s the best thing for us." If he isn't traded we will see if he can play RT. Well that was his position in MD in 2006, so why not? The question is motivation. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 Until he played LT and pouted when they wanted him to move back. Also college ball and pro are so very different. Quote
colincac Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Papa, the fact you think a guy who has proven to be a good LT can't play RT is simply ludicrous. The difficulty is trying to move a guy who is used to facing less pass rushers on the right side to the left, not the other way around. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 OK so you know all about football. It is very hard to move a guy. So whats his name from cuse who played very good LT but Ogden was here and they tried to stuff ihim in at RT was good there. Quote
