cravnravn Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 On one hand I agree with mlb on not lifting Rose's ban from baseball. Pete has not helped his cause one bit by admitting Monday that he's still gambling. Yet on the other hand, isn't mlb partners with draft kings? Fantasy sports is just a nicer term for gambling. Fantasy sports betting is no different then playing the pony's, playing slot machines, or card games. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Also they had no issue trotting him out for the All Star game. When he can financially benefit baseball they are fine with having him around. Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 It's complete BS. It's none of MLB's business if Rose legally gambles now. Ty Cobb was allegedly a racist and murderer, and he's celebrated as one of the greatest players of all time. It's purely the line of commissioners that does not want to step on the shoes of the commissioner that hated Rose. I say leave it up to the baseball writers. These guys vote on steroid users every year and choose not to let them in. Heck, the writers are black balling possibly the second greatest hitting catcher of all time in Mike Piazza, without any shred of evidence he did PEDs. If the writers are that appalled at Rose's actions, they will simply not vote him in. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Agreed. Perry admits he cheated but he is celebrated. Quote
