papasmurfbell Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2019/7/20/20701899/mmqb-predicts-steelers-will-win-afc-north-with-a-10-6-record-browns-ravens-bengals-nfl-news STEELERS: 10–6“I have them losing the season-opener to New England but rebounding well. This is going to be one of the most fascinating divisions in the NFL, and we could see a titanic offensive shift now that Antonio Brown is in Oakland.”BROWNS: 9–7“My inability to embrace hype is palpable here, and I understand. I have Cleveland splitting all three of their divisional series (an original projection had them sweeping the Steelers, which made sense in a vacuum but feels impossible on a larger scale. Otherwise, my picks went probably as you’d expect, save for a surprise Week 1 loss to the Titans.”BENGALS: 6–10“This is probably my least favorite result. Cincinnati’s initial 10-6 record in my first projection was a reflection of my positivity surrounding this team, with or without Jonah Williams. Still, the Bengals have a wicked first half, starting in Seattle, hosting the 49ers, traveling to Buffalo, traveling to Pittsburgh, hosting the Cardinals, traveling to Baltimore, hosting Jacksonville and traveling to Los Angeles. It was hard have them emerge from that stretch in a place to make a run at the division.”RAVENS: 5–11“As I’ve written before, this new playbook without Lamar Jackson’s knowledge deal makes me uneasy. Their record here isn’t a reflection of some foreseen Jackson regression, but more an offensive regression as a whole. I loved what Baltimore did down the stretch last year and thought there was a way to blend that punishing rush offense with Jackson’s natural playmaking abilities, which we saw in spurts and at the end of their playoff loss to the Chargers.”I would change this whole prediction. But if the Ravens do go 5-11 would Steve pull a Billick? Quote
vmax Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Winning 6 out of 7 games to close out the regular season is not indicative of a team on the down swing. It's the opposite. The lone loss was a 27-24 OT loss to the red hot Chiefs. It is very hard to predict the Ravens record this season...and too early. One thing that I know: When Harbaugh has a talented roster, it bodes for a good year....and he has one very deep and talented roster. I hope this makes it to the Ravens bulletin board. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 I don't see him pulling the correct strings to get more out of them. When he has a situation dumped in his lap and it works out it is all him. When things don't go well its everything elses fault. Quote
vmax Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 This is more accurate........... “I think the AFC North is the Ravens’ division to lose,” Eisen said on “The Rich Eisen Show.” “The whole doubting Jackson thing, I’m over it, I’m tired of it,” Eisen said. “... They reconfigured their offense on the fly last year and made the playoffs.… I think [Jackson is] going to absolutely improve throwing the football. I think the offense is going to be tight end and running back heavy with now [Marquise] ‘Hollywood’ Brown taking the top of the defense off.”Along with Eisen, USA Today’s Doug Farrar is also optimistic about the Ravens. Baltimore landed at No. 9 in Farrar’s training camp power rankings, ahead of the Browns (13), Steelers (19) and Bengals (27).“The only questions about Baltimore is how things will work out when Lamar Jackson needs to throw the ball at a high-volume rate, and how the coaching staff will handle a defensive exodus in free agency,” Farrar wrote. “... This is still a top-three secondary, and could be even more if [Earl] Thomas stays healthy, but it’ll take some kind of coaching to make up for the defensive losses, and to bring Jackson forward in advancement to the point where he’s ready for the ‘crux of the biscuit’ moment when it comes.”...https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/late-for-work-7-22-rich-eisen-afc-north-is-ravens-division-to-lose Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 I have never thought Eisen was ever that smart. I was glad when he left ESPN. He is a joke which is why he runs the 40 every yr at the combine. Quote
vmax Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 He's smart enough to be making more money than you. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 And so is this clearly moronic idiot and his mentally disabled offspring. Quote
vmax Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Today is "Let the Truth Be Known Day!" NFL 2019: Five players who are poised to make the leap and become Year 2 breakoutsLamar Jackson BAL • QB • 8 Skeptics abound – locally and nationally – despite him transforming the Ravens' moribund offense on the fly, saving their season, going 6-1 and immediately becoming one of the most dynamic athletes in the entire league. Now he has a full offseason of regular reps and an offense tailored completely around his skillset – rather than Joe Flacco's – and a bunch of speedy and twitchy guys at the skill positions, yet I'm supposed to believe he's gonna be a failure? Nah. Ravens will be best rushing team in the NFL, Jackson will clean up some footwork and delivery stuff and be an even bigger nightmare for defensive coordinators in 2019.....https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-2019-five-players-who-are-poised-to-make-the-leap-and-become-year-2-breakouts/ Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 Where are these national media when it comes to that awful practice he had a month ago? I think it was 7 picks amd missed easy throws. Quote
