papasmurfbell Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 https://ravenswire.usatoday.com/2019/07/23/ravens-set-to-start-training-camp-with-11-696-million-in-cap-room/ According to Russell Street Report’s Brian McFarland, the figure is the largest amount of cap room the Ravens have carried into training camp over the past five seasons, narrowly besting the $11.6 million in room the team had at this point in 2016. For a year-over-year comparison, Baltimore started camp with $8.5 million in cap room last season. Finally being responsible with the cap is a major bright spot in the future of this franchise. Quote
vmax Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Agreed.Aaron Rodgers is probably the best QB in the NFL but the Packers can't get back to the Super Bowl because of his cap hit over the years. It hurts the front office as far as building a solid team. They can't afford to get or keep good players. The same is true with Brees in New Orleans, Ryan in Atlanta. Somehow the Chargers have found a way with Rivers but over the years that team wasn't deep enough to go deep in the playoffs. It's nice to have these great QB's, yet the rest of the team suffers with too many weak links. Quote
