RIVERS GOT 50TH VOTE, SOMEHOW

 

The AP report announcing that Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo is the 2008 defensive rookie of the year mentioned that Mayo received 49 of the 50 votes.

 

But the report doesn’t identify the recipient of the 50th vote.

 

It was, we’re told, Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers.

 

Seriously.
