Jungletiger Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 No surgery for Palmer Tuesday, January 6, 2009, 03:10 PM EST Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer will not need surgery on his elbow, the team confirmed on Tuesday. "We did get back those late exam results that (Palmer) had made reference to, and the word is that -- as Marvin had stated he expected -- the results continue to indicate No. 9 will heal without surgery in time for full 2009 offseason work," Bengals public relations director Jack Brennan said on Tuesday. Palmer said last month that he'd seen five doctors and most of them had recommended rehab over surgery on the elbow that he injured in the Bengals' third game of the season. Palmer last played on Oct. 5 at Dallas. Palmer started a throwing regimen in early December and by the Bengals' final week of practice, was throwing against a defense and said all felt good with his elbow and he'd hoped to avoid surgery. http://www.thelotd.com/ctrent/ Quote
BengalBilly Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Palmer started a throwing regimen in early December and by the Bengals' final week of practice, was throwing against a defense and said all felt good with his elbow and he'd hoped to avoid surgery. "A defense?" Could they be more vague? Was it high school or a scrub ridden practice squad? This comment hardly fills me with confidence. Quote
thundercleetz Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I feel sorry for Carson. He is already 29, and is probably one of the most talented QBs in the league. When you look at all the other QBs in Carson's league (Peyton, Brady, Rivers, Ben, Brees, McNabb), they are continually in the playoffs year-in and year-out, whereas Carson is unfortunately on the Bengals. Even though he is a division rival, you never want to see a player as talented as Carson have their career go to waste. Carson seems like a good guy too. Chad Johnson, I don't care about, he brings it upon himself. But Carson doesn't deserve it. Quote
cravnravn Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I dont know, he needed TJ surgery right? So if he goes into training camp, and aggrivates it, then its 15 months out after surgery. So that puts him onto the 2010 season.. Quote
