Derrick Brooks gets his walking papers

TAMPA, Fla. -- Derrick Brooks, one of the top players in Tampa Bay history, was cut by the Buccaneers on Wednesday in a purge of the team's older players.........the 36-year-old Brooks was the most visible cut after a season in which he made his 11th Pro Bowl.........Brooks, one of only four players voted to 10 consecutive Pro Bowls, was also a standout off the field -- he was the co-winner of the 2000 NFL Man of the Year award, given to the player who combines skill on the field with good works off it.
