Why is it a poor decision, its quite obvious the tear didnt bother him, he only missed one week

I think they should get the surgery. I have seen it to many times when they try to just rehab and aventually go under the knife in the long run anyway. They just get cut and it hurts them into the season. Boulware comes to mind in this situation.
