Watson has always struggled against the Ravens, 600 yards with 2 tds and 2 picks in 3 games or so. His line is not the best, but they have been very good in 3 games this year. While they don't have truly elite wide outs, nor is Watson(sore throwing arm) the most accurate, they can move the ball through the air. The biggest 2 issues the Ravens have on defense; missed tackles leading to extra yards and edge protection.. They have, especially against the Browns in recent years, been killed by off tackle runs, jump cuts outside. Then there is the sack issue (11 for 91 yards). Sure, they had 7 last week, thanks mostly to the blitz of Hamilton (3 sacks). But they also missed several others, letting the qb spin away. Watson is nothing if not an escape artist, so they better be quick to him, but under control to wrap him up. Yes I know I haven't touched on the Ravens offense vs the very good Browns defense... Scary thought right now not knowing who will line up outside for the Ravens and which Lamar Jackson will show up. Turnovers will rule this game of two very good defenses. As stellar as the Ravens defense has been, they have not gotten very many -2- Ravens are averaging 360 yards per game, allowing teams to average 322. They are 51% on 3rd downs, while allowing opposing teams to average 45%. This one could go either way, here is hoping for a home win with few if any serious injuries.

Well, Bateman is understandable coming off of lis franc, can't fault Obj for a sprained ankle, it happens.

Last season, Baltimore Ravens wide receivers ran a route called "Odell." In 2023, Odell Beckham Jr. can offer pointers on the play they named after him – an end-zone corner route, a play Beckham Jr. has caught a share of his 56 career touchdowns running. "So we’re asking how he runs that against different looks," Ravens wideout Tylan Wallace said. It’s also a sign of Beckham morphing from the talented-yet-mercurial superstar to a wise veteran, 30 years old now, willing to lend an ear to the younger players in his position group, some of whom grew up watching him make highlight-reel catches with the New York Giants at the beginning of his career. "It’s crazy," Wallace said. "So when he first got here, it was kind of like, ‘Oh wow, I remember watching this dude growing up.’ Now I’m his teammate." BALTIMORE RAVENS From locker-room outcast to leader: How Odell Beckham Jr. became key voice for Ravens Chris Bumbaca USA TODAY Last season, Baltimore Ravens wide receivers ran a route called "Odell." In 2023, Odell Beckham Jr. can offer pointers on the play they named after him – an end-zone corner route, a play Beckham Jr. has caught a share of his 56 career touchdowns running. "So we’re asking how he runs that against different looks," Ravens wideout Tylan Wallace said. "It’s crazy," Wallace said. "So when he first got here, it was kind of like, ‘Oh wow, I remember watching this dude growing up.’ Now I’m his teammate." NFL STATS CENTRAL: The latest NFL scores, schedules, odds, stats and more. Nothing makes Beckham feel older than the “grew up watching you play” comments. He still believes there are good years left in his legs. But he also knows what his role is for the Ravens, who signed him to a one-year, $15-million deal in March, adding another weapon for quarterback Lamar Jackson. Beckham said he's "still got a little bit left" in the tank. But gone are the days of stretching defenses as one of the NFL's most dynamic playmakers. Two ACL tears – the most recent forcing him to miss all of last season after sustaining it in Super Bowl 56 while playing for the Los Angeles Rams – will do that. He missed the Ravens' Week 3 contest, a loss to the Indianapolis Colts, with an ankle injury he suffered the previous game. Obviously, I want to make plays, don’t get me wrong. I want to score touchdowns. I want to dance," Beckham said. "I want to have fun, but, definitely, to help the younger guys: mentally, physically, spiritually, however I can. I embrace that role and that opportunity, and I take it very seriously. I don’t mind being the older guy for once in the room." https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/ravens/2023/09/28/odell-beckham-baltimore-ravens-receivers-zay-flowers-leader/70904175007/

Well, neither of them has shown the ability to hold the edge, get pressure on the pocket, sack the quarterback, nor stay healthy. Most of us thought that those two were reaches, even a waste of draft picks. While they still have time to turn it around, I won't hold my breath.
-
Boy, that is good news. I've loved what Musterferd has done, actually better than Lindy, though it's early for him. But very glad that Stanley, Gus and Marcus could be back for this game. The Brownsay not be all time great, but that front seven is for real.
-
He was an excellent edge defender, good pocket pressure, though he averaged I believe 5 sacks per season. Very smart, learned under Billy B. IF, he can stay healthy, he should be a good stop gap for this season.
-
Good move given the injuries to the supposed edge setters that always seem to lose the edge in big times. A stop gap till Shan Na Na comes back... https://www.cbsnews.com/baltimore/news/baltimore-ravens-reportedly-signing-linebacker-two-time-super-bowl-champ-kyle-van-noy/

Can't do anything to prevent a sprained ankle nor bruised ribs. Hamstring injuries are tricky. Someone who works out every day can have one go bad while someone who never works out may never have one go bad. There really is no rhyme nor reason to the injury. Bateman may have a tight one because of the time off for his foot injury. Wallace? Working too hard? Not enough?
-
Bateman with a tight hamstring, Gus in concussion protocol, Ojaba has a bum ankle, (read choice of words), Stone has at least bruised ribs,... and Wallace went on Ir with a hamstring injury as well. Ouch, injuries are overflowing

Yeah, at this point you either take care of the fumbling issue or you don't. Shoot, look at the serial fumbler Gordon, when he ran yesterday, two hands on the ball, to the point is likely kept him from getting extra yards, though he ran pretty well. He wad clearly not about to fumble after what Drake and Lamar had done. I still wonder if Lamar can read a defense, presnap, or is just looking to see who might be open? I suppose we, fans, will never truly know. But based on how late he is on some throws when under pressure, it hints that he can't read a defense. Several times he had a back in the flat when the blitz came and didn't throw the ball to them or missed terribly. Todd always gives the qb an out for pressures, a back in the flat, a tight end on a short curl on one side or the other. I've seen Lamar look at the flat and ignor it, pulling the ball down. Shoot, pull the ball down and run, or move off the spot, help your offensive line!

Used to be game to game, we would not know which Lamar we would get. Now, it is series to series. Not sure what he was looking for when he fumbled, but from tv it appeared that there were open receivers.....

The defense played incredible, 4 50+ yard field goals, 2 of them when the Indi drives started at their own 45 or better. A safety, a turnover on downs on 3rd and 4th & 1. I guess all the talk about the Dallas defense being as good as the Bears, or Ravens or Bucs defenses that are all time greats can end. The Cards took it to them... sorry, off track... Lamar has 200 + yards throwing, another 100+ rushing and we lose because he has to prove that he is a pocket passer, just stand there and try to throw when the pocket collapses? Inside your own 25 yard line? He knows they only need 5 yards, has Flowers on a short crossing route, wide open, rushes the throw, and is still late on the throw, causing it to be behind Flowers? Takes a sack when they are on the edge of field goal range? I also blame Harbs, after that pass that got them to the 61 yard field goal try, why not do a qb sneak to get a tad bit closer? What were your instructions to Flowers on the punt after rhe safety? Fair catch? Run in a circle to kill clock? They were playing match up zone for the most part, taking away Andrews with bracket coverage, someone else had to be open, flee the pocket, find them. Other qbs do that, why can't Lamar? Oy, breathe, one game, should have won, should have won going away... a microcosm of the previous two games, smoothe offense, an offense that shoots its self in the foot...

Wow what a stand by the defense! 3rd and 4th & 1 and they Stone them! At the 46 4:10 Jackson blitzed, he hurries a throw behind Drake, incomplete To Andrews for 6 3rd down, don't let this defense down Pass to Likely at the 38, dropped, 4th and 3, 3:22 Lining up to go for it They call time out Tries to go for Flowers o er the middle who is hooked and tackled early, should have been a pi 1st down at the 48 for Indi Moss runs for 15 Just end this game please Horrible Run again for 2 2:10 2.min warning When you play with your food, your food will bite you. Moss runs it to the 35, 3rd and 5 Moss up the middle for 1 31, 54, 53, 53, this one from 53 Is Good, Indi wins, good night
-
Lamar cost this team a win with his erratic play, look past his numbers, look at the 2 fumbles, the lack of pocket awareness, the sack at the end of regulation
-
Complete to the 50, Stone takes friendly fire and is down. This game is over, (yes I know i.am on a delay)
-
Had it all set up, 3& out, great return past the 50, great first play. Open receiver for a first down, Lamar rushes the throw and they have to punt...
-

Another Blitz beater, complete for 8 Wide out screen, for 6, gets out of bounds, 1:07 from the Ravens 28 False start This defensive strategy is terrible on this drive Deep down the left sideline, Stephens breaks it up, 4th down 53 to tie It's good, we are tied at 19, thanks to terrible coaching and play 57 seconds left, 2 timeouts left Touchback
-
Onside punt, wow, he boots it deep, Flowers fair catches, 2:03 left Gordon to the right, no gain, real 2 min warning Need a first down, need a first down 2nd and 9 Run to the left, no gain, 1:55, no timeouts, 3rd and 9 That safety was huge Timeout ravens Just run the ball at this point End around with Flowers, illegal block in the back, it stops the clock Stupid play call, they miss the face mask, but nonetheless, terrible play call Fair catch at the 37, 1:41 left Bad clock management by Ravens Blitz, pass is complete to the Ravens 49 Blitz, pass is comete for 12, field goal range, 1:31
-
Okay, it's up to the defense 2:14 Hamilton forces a quick throw, incomplete 2nd and 10 False start they lose 6 inches 2:11 Minshew grabbed in the endzone, heaves it down field incomplete 3rd down 11 Minshew steps out of the endzone because of the rush, SAFETY! 2 min warning 19-16!
