  1. This year there really is no dominate team, a handful of really good teams, then a cluster of meh teams. Yes, Detroit is playing great, scoring a lot of points, playing good defense, but we saw the same from them last year, and we know how that turned out for them. Have they learned from last year? A better o line, some key fees agent pick ups on offense & defense, but are they real? Maybe The Cheifs have a good defense, but their offense is struggling, but they have Mahomes. Pit, well good defense, meh offense, no one really to challenge deep, and a shakey offensive line. Then who? If the Ravens can play disciplined ball, not best them selves as we have said all season so far, why not them? Even last week with Lamar off target, refusing to run when given the chance, they should have, okay, could have won. In fact, all of their loses they should/could have won if not for their penalties, turnovers, unforced, missed field goals. So while it is true, no running first, running qb has ever won a Super Bowl, Lamar is more like Steve Young, a man most say was a running qb who won a Super Bowl. Young went to San Fran and learned how to be a pocket passer who could run. Just as Lamar is now doing. He just needs to relax in the big games and exploit the opportunities to run when given the chance, ala Steve Young. So yes, this year, could be the year, more so than last year was, even though this year's defense is a shadow of last year's.
  2. Matt talked a little bit about the team, he looked over most every kick and said the snaps were "right on the spot" on those misses and the holds looked good. Justin said on the one he made, they agreed to change his aiming point slightly right and boom, straight in. So it appears it is either a mind issue with Tucker in game only, or perhaps the holder, Stout, is just tilting the ball slightly enough to cause the miss. Either way, we will never know.
  3. I heard an interview with Stover on Tucker's struggles. He essentially said that it is normal when it comes to kicking, even he had his struggles over the course of his career. He does feel Justin will work things out, just as he did with the 56 yarder in the game after 2 misses. Fun story time; I used to work for Howard County parks & recs. During the off season, Stover, who lived near Centennial field in Howard County, I worked at the park down the road, would go out to Centennial to practice his kicks. Now in the off season, the fields are closed to help the grass recover from the heavy use. Well, one Saturday, a worker there kicked him off the field. When Matt tried to explain, the guy didn't want to hear it. Oh not because he was on a power trip, rather, because he was a Redslurs fan Matt did get to keep practicing there once cooler heads found out.
  4. It would help if players around him did not turn the ball over. 3 turnovers and none of them his fault, though he gets "credited" with one. I know, he missed a number of throws, but still...
  5. I do agree, qbr is subjective. But his td to picks ratio is real.
  6. Welp, Lamar has a 109.3 passer rating in cold weather games. https://www.si.com/nfl/ravens/news/ravens-weather062421#:~:text=SportsBettingDime.com thoroughly explored how, climate games among all quarterbacks
  7. Well, Lamar after the game certainly fired everyone up, so we shall see. They generally play well on Monday nights, something like 6-2, Lamar with 20-0 tds to picks. Two of those games he had 5 tds.. so we shall see..
  8. Ew, wash that ugly loss against a team the Ravens should have mashed, they were who we thought they were as the saying goes. Up next, the L A Chargers, yeah, that sounds weird to me as well. Are these the same old Chargers that find ways to lose important games? Well, the media would have us believe not, after all, they came back and beat the Bengals, currently sit at 7-3, have a plus 75 points in points allowed and pointsns scored. Oh yes and they are 5-2 in the AFC. New coach, new home in LA, new team? Maybe, then again, maybe not. Herbert is playing well in an old system run by a familiar name, Greg Roman. Run the ball, throw behind the run off of play action, slants, seam routes, occasional deep routes. Herbert is completing 63% of his passes, with 13 touchdowns and 1 pick. He has been sacked 23 times. He has added 182 yards on the ground with 1 score. Yes, he can run like a gazel, the Ravens need to keep disciplined rush lanes and eyes on him. They are averaging 22 points per game while holding their opponents to 14.5 points. They are pretty equal in 3rd down success with their opponents, 38% to 32 % respectively, and on 4th down as well, 66% to 64%. Their defense has recorded 9 picks & 34 sacks. They are allowing teams to average 4.7 yards per carry, but have given up only 3 rushing touchdowns. Like the Ravens, they do comitt a lot of penalties, 5 per, 41 yards per game. The Chargers have also fumbled 12 times so far, but only lost 4 of them. Penalties, turnovers, it's what cost the Ravens a number of victories this year. The key to beating the Chargers, new or old, is to not beat your self. So, who ya got?!
  9. As did Queen, wish that they could have kept one of them. On a positive note, Owe seems to be rounding into form as is Robinson who is destroying pockets.
  10. Yes, I am sure they team wanted to keep him, but his price was too high, and they thought a healthy Williams would live up to his contract. They were wrong, clearly.
  11. I think Goff took control of the MVP, did younsee his numbers, wow..m
  12. Give him some props, two very big pass breakups, one in the endzone against a taller, Pickens, wide out, one on one. Well done
  13. Ad Washington & Hamilton were much better than any other safety combination for this defense this year. Granted, the pocket pressure helped keep the deep passes down. Pickens is good, buf man does he get away with major push offs. He was an issue at Georgia too, got benched often. Glad he is not a Raven. So I hope Hamilton heals quickly.
  14. Well, not sure Dallas level, if so this loss will haunt them next Monday in LA. Even with Lamar playing poorly they could have won. Likely doesn't fumble = win Hill puts two hands on the ball when going to the ground = win Henry, who never fumbles, I mean never = win So I won't put this on Lamar Who knows what happens if they ran the correct 2 pt play. This is the league's best red zone team. Not sure what happened there, but if it goes to overtime, I take the Ravens. Wilson was shell shocked. The biggest convern js injuries. Smith, how bad is that hamstring? There is a reason the Steelers started killing this defense over the deep middle when he went out. Hamilton, he reinjured that anckle late in the game. Looked like the pain killing shot finnally wore off. Then Tucker, what do they do? Bring in another kicker? One who can atleast make 45 yard kicks?
  15. Funny, odd, maybe ironic, the only mistakes made were NOT on defense. The coaches made mistakes: play call, Monken, 2 pt conversion sticks out the most Harbs: choosing to go for a drive backed up on your 10 when your offense is playing like crap with less than 1 minute left in the half, 3 turnovers, one of them, a killer, on said stupid Harbs mistake. Most of the penalties were on offense, some killing promising drives. Special teams, while Stout was excellent punting, a couple of 50 yarders, 1 70 yarder He and Tucker are still costing this team. 2 missed field goals, left Change holders during the bye week, go visit a witch and have her take the hex off of you, stop doing commercials, something because this is kow 3 years of missing left and at this point, something/ someone has to change. This defense, granted against the Steelers, showed that they can play championship caliber defense. But in games when the offense wants to shoot off both of its feet, field goals will be needed to win a playoff game. Lamar, the receivers proved today that they are average at best in big games. Prove me wrong
  16. Tucker Continues to leave points on the field, 6 pts in this game, 23-18 is a victory. The way the defense was playing no way Pitt gets into the endzone at the end to win
  17. Too bad, Pit is who we thought they were, not that good. Another game they should have won. Lamar played it like he did the Chiefs in the playoff game. Sure, give him the 3rd MVP, it means nothing if you can't play well in big games
  18. 1:06 Run up the middle no gain 1:02 timeout Ravens Fields is in Hamilton is hurt bad Game over
  19. Kicking it deep, touchback
  20. Blown up right away, tried to run right, around the end, they were waiting on it
  21. 2 pt try whistles blow, timeout Pitt Pitt has 2 timeouts left From the Pistol Hill in, stupid play call
  22. Pass to Flowers, touchdown!
  23. Great catch by Algholar,, flag down inllegigable down field, Merkari 3rd down again 9 to go 12 penalties Rolls right, throws back left to Hill who gets a great block by Andrews for 24 Quick throw to Wallace on the left side for 8 1:11 Run the ball, kill clock
  24. 2nd and 10 Check down to Hill in the middle for 7 All 3 timeouts Wow Jackson rolls right, lofts one to Algholar at the Steeler 7
  25. Pass is batted down 2nd and 10 Run, just freaking run, he dances around Flowers breaks wide open pass bounces off of his face mask 3rd and 10 Hits Bateman over the middle for 11 My gosh, this is like a playoff game for Lamar Blutz is picked up, hits Likely for 11 Stupid, stupid, fakes a screen pass, tries to run up the middle tackled for no gain 2 min warning
