  1. Riccard must have: "had malice in his heart" remember that call?
  2. Short week made shorter with the Thanksgiving holiday. So happy Holiday peeps. Talk about a doctor Jeckle, Mr Hyde team, the Eagles certainly fit that mold. One minute they can't run the ball, can't stop the run, the next they are setting franchise records. Their offense currently sits 3rd and the league in total offense, averaging 389 yards per game, 195 through the air, 193 on the ground, good for 26 pts per game. Their defense sits atop the league, holding teams to 175 yards per game in the air, 99 on the ground, 18 pts per game. Ah but turnovers is where the monsters come out, Phili is just a plus 3, 14 take aways, 11 give aways. So another tough test for the Ravens before a much needed bye week to lick their wounds and gear up for the final push of the regular season. Enjoy your meal, but enjoy the company more, one can never get too many second helpings of hugs & kisses. So, who ya got!?
  3. Yeah, that first one, tripping, or as they HAD to call it, "leg whipping", technically correct but seriously?! Had Riccard touched him, okay, had it been more a obvious, okay. But come on, defenders do this regularly when they get knocked down, the ball carrier is about to speint past them and it is rarely called.
  4. The reporters really need to get better questions, more diverse questions, come on, what does it mean to have Derick Henry, really? As if he hasn't answered that question before....
  5. Great throw and catch by Bateman just before half, woza..
  6. It had to be done, wake this offense up, send a message to the Chargers
  7. Great job on 3rd down for the offense, 8 of 15, 3 of 3 on 4th too boot. The defense is clearly in Deqn Pees mode, bemd but don't break, which always leads to a team scoring pts to end a half, ridiculous. 9 Penalties, for 102 yards, unacceptable, especially the 15 yarders.. Another let down by the special teams, this time it was only a big return, thankfully. 4 sacks, 3 punts, a road victory against a good AFC team.
  8. Nice to wake up to a victory! Still going over the game, made it to throw 2 pt try, another failed one. This one is on Lamar, he had, as he rolled out, Flowers and Andrews open. I know that the play is designed to throw back to Likely, but, take what is in front of you. There is a reason Flowers and Andrews were both open in the zone coverage. Any who, back to the game
  9. Just popped on to say, first quarter, already two 15 yard penalties
  10. Walker, nice, but honestly he always seems to be hurt, doesn't really impact games the way one would expect, despite having the tools and the system.
  11. From Jeff Z Ravens have waived veteran S Eddie Jackson and signed ILB Kristian Welch to active roster. Jackson wasn't pleased by reduced role. Frustrations boiled over Steelers week and he didn't accompany team on trip. He's now released.
  12. Yes, you heard me, the coach has turned a great program into the weak Washington teams that always stumble. Yeah! We can win 10 games, go a bowl, sorry, that might be good enough in Seattle, not in Bama land
  13. The heir apparent for Henry, great vision, balance, quick fast, and yes he can take it thr distance. Excellent in out of the back field in the passing game, one tough dude. Because he is a rb can likely get him in the 4th
  14. Splitting hairs, would likely not have Monken then
  15. A lot of key injuries for this game, Lindy and Smith the biggest, Jones as well https://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/injury-report/
  16. Move on from an offense that, with a very raw qb, set franchise records, the qn won mvp, and, the team had the #1 seed? Then, the pandemic season interrupted everything. Make no mistake, I love having Todd here and no, I do not think Harbs is a great coach. One reason the team keeps making the same mistakes, penalties, is because Harbs does as well with his clock management, use of time outs, etc. But it is easy to see why he kept Roman and expected Lamar to work on his craft in the off season Ala many of the other qbs.
  17. I'm not sure it was on Harbs, the player has some culpability too and it APPEARS, that Lamar only took things truly to heart a year or two ago. Maybe more, it is impossible for us to know, some players take longer.
  18. I'm not saying he is Young, just that the two are very similar in their style. We have reached a new level of coaching in the NFL, where teams are taking run first qbs and adapting offenses while said player learns how to become a pocket passer. Imagine Andre Ware, even Warren Moon in today's NFL, with an offense built around them as it has been for Lamar! I do expect, not just feel, but expect Lamar to excel, to become a pocket passer with his running ability which is much more dangerous than Josh Allen & Justin Herbert. Two pocket passers who can really run. Add in Kyler Murray who seems to be coming along. When we look at the running qbs of the past, you are correct, one injury and boom, gone, RG3, comes to mind. But he never got the chance to fix his accuracy issues or truly read defenses post snap. Even Cam, only had one great year, made it to the Super Bowl, but his lack of more diverse types of passes held him, the team back. He never learned how to drop passes in, how to take something off. With him it was straight line passes thrown a million miles an hour. Or, he would float them out of bounds. Nothing in the middle. Lamar is learning this, learning how to layer throws. You can see the change from just two years ago. So yes, I do think he can.
  19. This year there really is no dominate team, a handful of really good teams, then a cluster of meh teams. Yes, Detroit is playing great, scoring a lot of points, playing good defense, but we saw the same from them last year, and we know how that turned out for them. Have they learned from last year? A better o line, some key fees agent pick ups on offense & defense, but are they real? Maybe The Cheifs have a good defense, but their offense is struggling, but they have Mahomes. Pit, well good defense, meh offense, no one really to challenge deep, and a shakey offensive line. Then who? If the Ravens can play disciplined ball, not best them selves as we have said all season so far, why not them? Even last week with Lamar off target, refusing to run when given the chance, they should have, okay, could have won. In fact, all of their loses they should/could have won if not for their penalties, turnovers, unforced, missed field goals. So while it is true, no running first, running qb has ever won a Super Bowl, Lamar is more like Steve Young, a man most say was a running qb who won a Super Bowl. Young went to San Fran and learned how to be a pocket passer who could run. Just as Lamar is now doing. He just needs to relax in the big games and exploit the opportunities to run when given the chance, ala Steve Young. So yes, this year, could be the year, more so than last year was, even though this year's defense is a shadow of last year's.
  20. Matt talked a little bit about the team, he looked over most every kick and said the snaps were "right on the spot" on those misses and the holds looked good. Justin said on the one he made, they agreed to change his aiming point slightly right and boom, straight in. So it appears it is either a mind issue with Tucker in game only, or perhaps the holder, Stout, is just tilting the ball slightly enough to cause the miss. Either way, we will never know.
  21. I heard an interview with Stover on Tucker's struggles. He essentially said that it is normal when it comes to kicking, even he had his struggles over the course of his career. He does feel Justin will work things out, just as he did with the 56 yarder in the game after 2 misses. Fun story time; I used to work for Howard County parks & recs. During the off season, Stover, who lived near Centennial field in Howard County, I worked at the park down the road, would go out to Centennial to practice his kicks. Now in the off season, the fields are closed to help the grass recover from the heavy use. Well, one Saturday, a worker there kicked him off the field. When Matt tried to explain, the guy didn't want to hear it. Oh not because he was on a power trip, rather, because he was a Redslurs fan Matt did get to keep practicing there once cooler heads found out.
  22. It would help if players around him did not turn the ball over. 3 turnovers and none of them his fault, though he gets "credited" with one. I know, he missed a number of throws, but still...
  23. I do agree, qbr is subjective. But his td to picks ratio is real.
  24. Welp, Lamar has a 109.3 passer rating in cold weather games. https://www.si.com/nfl/ravens/news/ravens-weather062421#:~:text=SportsBettingDime.com thoroughly explored how, climate games among all quarterbacks
  25. Well, Lamar after the game certainly fired everyone up, so we shall see. They generally play well on Monday nights, something like 6-2, Lamar with 20-0 tds to picks. Two of those games he had 5 tds.. so we shall see..
