  1. Hey Tags, yes we are building a museum.... A Hall of Fame
  2. Some good news Patrick Queen, L.J. Fort, Malik Harrison and Tyus Bowser, safety DeShon Elliott and cornerback Terrell Bonds were removed from the list after they passed testing
  3. If Lamar lets it fly down field and connects a time or two, the defense wilk have no choice but to back off, stop crowding the middle and he will be able to run rabbit run like his pants are on fire. This is what I think will happen, okay, hope will happen.. Then again, am one gift to be delivered and one to order away from being done Christmas shopping already.....
  4. Ok well then... I'll copy and paste, let the other be a hanging chad...... Who ya got? With Humphries out and seven defenders unable to practice, not too mention the team having an interupted practice week, the offense is likely going to have to carry this team. Maybe even special teams will be affected, so can this offense take a deep breath, and just, relax & play? Can they have 10+ plays, 7+ minute touchdown scoring drives with 1+ quick strike long touchdown passes to take the fight out of the stingy Colt defense? If not, this could be an ugly game. When your backs are up against the wall, qhen a wounded animal is cornered, they say that is when they are most dangerous. And even at 5-2, I would say this team has it's back against the proverbial wall
  5. Hey Mister magic, can you swing your hips and merge our threads? Oh jeepers, that does not sound right, but then, hey, this is 2020, anything goes, right!?
  6. Hold the phone; no one is saying stop him from being Lamar, turn him into a more traditional pocket passer, if they are they are wrong. His mechanics are fine, he is used to throwing off platform, that is normal for him. I am saying, at least me, that he needs a better understanding of defenses, of making proper reads, of seeing the best matchup and YES, TAKR CARE OF THE DAGGONE BALL! Stop the carelessness in the pocket, just tossing the ball up when about to be sacked; take the sack. This is what Brown was eluding too after the game Sunday. Brown had single coverage on the outside with no safety help numerous times, yet no passes. Snead ( and anyone else in the slot) was matched up with a linebacker, a freaking linebacker. Boykin was also singled up on the outside... Make the throws, on time, see the matchups, presnap, properly go through the reads. If it is a zone, you know presnap who amd where to throw the ball.
  7. 7 playere at high risk, does not mean they tested positive and they still can play this week if they pass the tests.... NFL now says maybe a 16 team playoff if games get canceled... How stupid, I would not watch
  8. On the 4th & 3, at the goal line when Lamar gets stuffed on a qb keeper. I don't know if that was the call, but he had Andrews & Brown open on the right side, Brown to the corner, Andrews to the seam. Snead was covered by a linebacker and not likely to get the first down. But either pass to Brown or a tougher pass to Andrews which they have done before, is 6 pts. Again, maybe it was a qb keeper all of the way, if so if he just kept going to the right and put the jets on he gets the first down....
  9. And it starts...
  10. There is no way for us to know for certain, let's start with that statement, shall we?! Afterall, we cannot know the play design, the order of options, nor even what his keys are... Now with that said, to this fan's eye what I see, especially when looking at the all 22... As I said in the other thread, it appears that either he does not know how to properly read a defense, but this I mean, look and see not just if it is man or zone, but what type of zone? Which side of the formation is zone or man, but also, what is his best option knowing the coverage, routes, match ups. Against the Steelere, when they went man, they used a linebacker to cover Snead when he was in the slot. This left him open often. When they went man, the left a single high safety, meaning either side of the field would be one on one on deep routes, a look or pump fake would move the safety away. So is Lamar just looking for Andrews over the middle, or who ever down the seam? Is he seeing the coverage and just ignoring it? He rarely throws timing patterns, when was the last time we saw a deep out or a comeback route? Timing is vital in man coverage, even against match up zone. If he can't read or make those types of throws, it limits the types of routes, which makes it easier for defensesnto defend against the pass. On the endzone throw to Snead to end the game, Lamar either didn't read the coverage right, or ignored it and wanted to force the ball to Snead. He had two better options based on alignment, Brown from the right side on a skinny post, DB was shading his outside. Or Boykin who had single coverage on the left, DB shadimg his outside. The Steelers were forcing all the coverage to the middle, which left plenty of room for either throw, but none to either Snead nor Andrews. The play was there to win the game if Lamar made the right read, then threw a good timing pass to either Boykin or Brown... This may speak volumes to where he is as a qb right now, and why "no one is getting open". But again, we are just fans, don't know his progressions, the plays..
  11. I am not saying dont sign him to a long term deal. All I am doing is pointing out his possible major issues and why this passing game is holding this team back. He still has a year before the team has decide on a long term deal. Of note, no team has won a super bowl with a running qb, that could change...
  12. On the pick 6, Lamar threw into double coverage AFTER, seeing Snead wide open, defender 5 away, which would have given the Ravens a first down on 3rd & five. Very last play, he three into tripple coverage to Snead, instead of single coverage on the outside to Boykin, who had inside position. Do you want more plays to show that he is not reading the defense or, even worse, just ignoring it and chosing to whom he wants to throw? Go back in this thread, a completion for 30 yatds to a wide open wr was nice, set up a td several plays later. However what he missed/ignored was Brown on a skinny post with the db on his outside and no safety help- easy touchdown for 40÷ yards, saves time and, swings momentum. Another one earlier in the game, he chose to throw to Andrews short, when he had I bekieve3 Brown again on the outside on a stop & go, ahead of the db, Steelers were in a single high safety, 3rd coverages. One look to the left holds the safety, easy 70+ yard touchdown. Reading the coverage is key, not just by were the defenders are, but by the position of the db's in relation to the wideouts, inside, head up, outside. I said this when they drafted him, that he could not properly read a defense, not just tell if it is man or zone, but more. So far, and he is young, he is showing he still cannot or worse, as I said, is chosing to ignore the coverage.
  13. Spen, you are not wrong. The play calling to start the 2nd half was atrocious. The defense, as well as they played had some lapses; hey, Pit is a good team. The officials did not help either, they were terrible. But Lamar cost this team in the obvious way, 7 on a pick six, not seeing the field, bad decision; all qbs make that mistake. 3 pts at least on the fumble at the goal line; poor pocket awareness, careless with the ball. Hey, all qbs do this sometimes. He gave the Steelers at least 3 more pts with the poor choice of throwing into tripple coverage, a pick, setting the Steelers up in field goal range. This also swong the momentum of the game, and is also a blame for the coaches for calling a pass play. The very next series the coaches called more pass plays instead of gutting this Steeler defense unable to consistantly stop the run yesterday. So that is what, 13 pts all on Lamar. He is making the same mistakes we have talked about since he was drafted, as I said during the game. Only he got away with it then, the defenses did not know how to defend him, they do now.
  14. Fitting, Lamar's running (he could have had the first doen) cost this team a win. His inablility to read & throw accurately on time cost this team a win. You don't dominate a team on the ground like that and not be able to use play action to the throw the ball.
  15. 2 guys standing there and no one covers
  16. Amazing, the Steelers defense doesn't commit pass interference
  17. Bonds is a.liability
  18. Nice pick up of rhe flag
  19. Touch down,
  20. He was in, aw man so close, bad challenge John, as usual
  21. If he handed that off its a td
  22. Snead to the rescue on 2 & 22
  23. That was not holding
  24. Whippie, a an easy pass, but if he had thrown it to Brown on the deep post it's 6 pts
  25. Your missing two starters on the offensive line, you run the ball effectively, you can't pass block, your qb is having a very bad day throwing even when he gets time, why are you not running the ball!!!!!
