Yep, take a page from their history, from Michigan when they played PSU last weekend, and run, run zone reads, run power, shoot, line up in the wishbone and run some more. When they get tired of that, run the wing T

fwiw --Texans Devin Singletary bludgeoned the Cinci D for 150 yards-30 carries/5 yards/ea.  if we don't pound the rock (>150 yards), we have little chance in this game.

  2. Tsy,  I find myself in the company of not trusting this team or coaches.    Still, there's plenty of time to adjust

and say, "fellas we are running it down their throats tonight.... all night". it would keep Burrow off the field, minimizes

Lamars obligatory picks or pick 6's.   If we get into a shoot-out w Burrow, we are going down.

  3. What can we expect Thursday night?  Who shows up that night?

Contender type performance - a la Lions and Seahawks or Pretender effort - a la Colts, Steelers, Browns ?

No in game adjustments; 4th quarter collapse?

Givern the Bengals' precarious position in AFCN and Burrough finding his mojo w his WR corps, I find this to be a very challenging game for us.

With the Bengals pass heavy offense, I see our best, maybe only chance, to win is by unleashing our run game - Gus, Hill & Mitchell.

Ground and pound, keep Burrough off the field, and execute for FOUR QUARTERS !!!!

This loss is on the D. 31 points scored and they couldn't stop an offense that really isn't that good.

The only criticism of the offense I have is that they didn't run the ball more as the game went on.

    Is Keaton MItchell hurt?

It’s a team loss - offense and defense didn’t execute at key moments of the game; didn’t play complimentary ball like they did against Seattle and Detroit.

IDK - maybe they needed to get smacked around - and the Browns obliged- and we’ll wake up Thursday night against Cincy.

I think Cincy game is our season. If we lay another egg like today, we will drop to 2nd place (Steelers/Browns winner would take over 1st place). I think we would lose our mojo big time if we go down that night.

if, however, we play complimentary ball, execute at critical moments and play 4 quarters, we can win.

After listening to all the pundits say the Ravens are the best team in the AFC (Shannon Sharpe) and todays game would be a *** I'm stupid for thinking this game is easy ***, you wonder how much players pay attention to the media and talking heads, rather than just playing the dang game.  I mean nobody gave the Browns a chance today - their OL was beat up, Watson was a bum, etc.

I don’t know what to make of this team.  They are a potentially good team when everything and everyone is firing on all cylinders.  But when they face adversity or pressure, esp in the 4th quarter, they are a mediocre to below average team.

if I’m the coach of the team, this Thursday is our Super Bowl and chance to redeem last years playoff loss. If we don’t capitalize Thursday night, this team is in trouble.

We’ll know Friday morning whether this team is a pretender or contender.

  5. Have to give the Browns credit.  It was, as expected, a slobberknocker. The winning team had the fewest mistakes in the critical moments and executed in the last drive.   They did and we didn’t.

Don’t like how this one ended for us and not sure how they will respond on Thursday.   Both teams should be hungry for a win and Cincy appears to be the more desperate team.

This AFCN is going to be a dogfight !!!

  6. Well, I was just praying the Ravens would somehow draft this guy from UGA in 2018.   When the Bears scarped him up in the 1st round,

I never thought he would make his way to Bmore.

Now that he's here, the guy has clearly found a home and is on a mission.

Provided he stays healthy and stays the course, we have our guy in the middle for years to come.

Dang happy and blessed to have Roquan!

  7. I like to attitude, respect and mojo going into this game.  Still, we have witnessed outcomes in last three games - Lions, Cards, Seahawks - that caught us all by surprise.

What's next; Who knows?   I said before and still believe the team that minimizes errors and executes best wins.

However, after all these accolades (Mitchell, Lamar MVP, top D) and having already waxed the Browns on their field, I can't but help think the team will be "down" or flat.

I fully expect a very close game with perhaps the good guys having to play from behind - due to a couple of miscues from the offense.

Either way, it should be a slobberknocker and a tight game.

  8. Ravens - Browns another quintessential AFCN slobberknocker. Whoever executes and plays the best error free ball wins.
Would love to see a great game from Keaton Mitchell following last weeks debut.
I don’t care about margin of victory or style points; just get the W !

    Go Ravens 👍

VA must be happy, he had been talking up Mitchell

Indeed.  Watched him play when he was at ECU.  He was hungry, shifty and fast then and showed it again today against a quality defense.  Going forward, I really like him as a change up to Gus.  The three - Gus. Keet and Justice - give us a nice backfield 👍

  10. Tsy et al,

I don’t know which bottle of lightning they caught today but whatever it was, keep catching it!

Like a bunch of prognosticators, I completely didn’t see this one coming and was on the wrong planet with my prediction.

Huge win, big time play from Lamar and the offense, and stout defense all day.

As Tsy points out, the team need to bring this kind of effort, intensity and execution every game.  Will they do it ?   Beats me but bringing this kind of performance would make for a helluva season.

    On to Zona 👍

  11. I believe a huge key to our success is from the running attack.  I don’t think we have yet produced a 100 yd game from a RB this year.   Imagine if we did  on a  regular basis would significantly improve our offensive efficiency, esp in the red zone.

Also, I haven’t seen our rookie back - Keaton Mitchell - even though he has been cleared to play.  What are we waiting for coach ? I’d like to see him get some touches tomorrow !! 👍

  12. Back to the Lions…..  they are a balanced, hungry, and well coached team. From what I’ve seen, they are playing complimentary football with a sense of urgency and energy. This team plays extremely hard for it s coach.

Make no mistake, this will be our toughest game to date.  If we put forth an effort like the Steelers and Colts game, we’ll go down.

if we do all three things - play error free ball, convert most of our red zone opps, and Harbs stays away from the momentum killing decisions  (e.g. passing on FGs), we have a chance to pull of a victory.  Anything less than all three, we’ll come up short.

Don’t have a clue which team will show up, but Detroit is for real and better than any team we’ve seen thus far.

Good to see you back VA! Say, what happened? You use to be a cheery one, sunshine and unicorns, has Harbs and the time away soured you? 😀

    Thanks TSY,

Bo, just not feeling it this weekend plus we just don’t play well in London…..ever.
Plus, I’m still in the camp that wishes we hadn’t resigned Lamar and would have drafted a new QB.

  14. We lay another egg in London,  discover new ways to lose, Lamar poops the bed again, Harbs gets outcoached by Vrabel, throws a new person under the bus, and we come back home 3-3.   More heads are spinning 🥴

  15. Agreed the hangover extends into London or the team consumes some bad fish and chips 🥴.  Either way,  we don’t show up but even if we miraculously make it close, bad Lamar shows up, Harbaugh easily gets out coached by Vrabel, and we come home 3-3.  Oh and Harbaugh throws another coach or player under the bus and explains how they’ll look at the film and get better.
    Book it !

  16. Not bad showing for 2nd/3rd stringers only down 17-14 at the half.  If Proche doesn’t botch TD pass, we would have been up 7-10 points at the half.  Washington played their starting QB Howell and WR McLauren and yet we’ve been right there.

BTW - we’ve got to keep 34 Keeton Mitchell on the roster.  Gordon looks slow, not breaking tackles.

I see a lot of people throwing the Passing Specialist for the 9ers out there.

A LOT of pieces need to fall into place at once, the first was Roman being gone.

    - franchise Lamar

    - new OC

    - proven WR
    - Lamar signs

I think the first three NEED to happen before Lamar signs.

Agree on the above steps.  Not sure of the proven WR - everyone keeps saying D-Hop.  IDK.

IMHO, the OC and QB together need to work together and figure out the offense, ID the needs, and acquire the personnel.

IDK they can figure it all out in time to acquire the guy (s).  How do we know the new OC and Lamar will mesh; what if the new OC completely scraps the whole monster created by GRO?

  18. Tsy,  I think after the Head coach and OL domino falls, the team either acquires a bridge QB (e.g. Washington's Heineke, etc.), drafts another while keeping Huntley or Brown.

Btw- no one's talking about it but it's a shame Brown didn't get on the field last night.

Whatever the Biscuit of FO decide, its a DAMN big one and will impact the team for 10 years.   Would love to position ourselves for either the USC, Oregon or UNC QB in 24.
