  1. Yep, agreed and if not already a long, foregone conclusion we move on w/o Lamar and OC.    But who and when?

As many have pointed out, it may take 1-2 years to transition to a new system although a strong running game, OL and defense will keep us competitive.

Knowing that, I'd be fine with "biting the bullet", acquiring a bridge QB this year, and drafting the franchise guy in '24.

    My two cents.....

So close yet so far away. we had the game. And then we didn't.

The D did so well. Macdonald had the right plan and had his guys ready. And many don't want to hear this, but Roman did too, given what he had to work with. Then Roman couldn't dial up the right redzone plays and the offense couldn't execute what was dialed up. I do think Roman needs to go. This team needs some hope that they can score in today's high powered offense NFL.

I'm sure Romans gone. They have a huge hole to fill to get a competent OC who will need a QB and receivers. Will they change the offensive philosophy? Basically, rebuild the scheme...

Emotionally??? I'm drained and very tired of going through a season knowing they don't have what it takes to make a deep playoff run due to injuries and lack of a passing attack. I'm very, very tired of losing in the 4th quarter. It's a 60-minute game.

    Deja Vou. Shades of Buffalo.

I'm sick of this. Done with it.

Max,  Bingo. Thank you.  Im spent too!

  3. Things just aren't adding up here.  How are we/he just learning this ?  Also, how does a 24-25 superstar athlete approaching (if not already) in the prime of his career,

have so many physical, medical issues (COVID, back, knee)?  Geez.   Cmon down, Anthony Brown !

  4. Other than Trent Dilfer's half season run (2000), Bazooka Joe's 4-5 year run, and Lamars historic season (2019), haven't we only witnessed

ca. 6 years of dynamic QB play in the franchise's 25 + yr. history.   That's about 20% of our history.

My point - our D and running attack has kept us competitive - won 2 SBs and numerous Division titles - and largely w/o strong franchise QB play.

Maybe we keep holding out too much for this "franchise" QB when we just need a solid QB to complement our perennially strong D and running attack.

Guess I'm a half full glass guy.  I trust our FO will snatch one up in the offseason.

  5. Max, if #3 is legit and plays out, I'm highly intrigued by the off-season possibilities.  I know it belongs in the off-season comments, but

I'm looking at life after Lamar and can't wait to see how the FO will fill the void.  Even with our dismal WR track record and OC woes, I cannot

but help feel optimism with a FA QB (to bridge us in 23- maybe a Derek Carr (just saying:) and drafting a young QB.

With an improving D, strong OL, nice cadre of RBs, and presumption for a new OC, the off-season can't get here soon enough.

  6. Yep, stacking the D! Relative to the D, we just need to fortify the DL (assuming Calais departure), strengthen CB opposite Humph (assuming Peters is gone),

acquire/develop a big-time pass rusher, and acquire/develop a safety alongside Marcus Williams.  Do those four things, we are talking D!

  7. Yep, Lamar (if he even shows up) need to play his butt off and D needs to wrap up Burrow and make him pay.  Of if Brown plays again maybe he learned something from

yesterday's "scrimmage".   I personally think the Bengals stunk yesterday and expect a much better game from them Sunday night.

  8. Lets hope in 2023-24 the anemic, dysfunctional offense is in the rear-view mirror.  Ill be watching tonight's game with hope of things to come and absolutely ZERO

expectations for Sunday night's game in Cincy.

Afterwards, my mind is programmed for new team and or offensive leadership, QB, philosophy.  If it happens, great; If not, another .500 year is in order.

I'll remain hopeful and as Andy Dufrain (Shawshank) said, "hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

  9. Yep, ready to move on from Lamar.  The sooner we land a legit franchise QB - this year, next year - the better.

Dont know we can swing it,but would love to see Max Duggan in purple in 23!  If not, we sign a FA as a bridge QB.

Either way, we have the foundation - OL and RBs in place - just need the OC and QB.

  10. TSY, IDK how you can replace GRO w/o dismissing Harbs and have a successful team moving forward.  I think it's a package deal.

Unfortunately, though, I'm not sure the Biscuit will cut Harbs loose and is far more likely to force his hand in replacing Roman.

I don't see, after the dust settles (post FA/Draft), this team at least finding a new OC and a legit, franchise QB for the 2023 season.

  11. This team is fizzling; reminds me of the end of the Billick era in circa 2006-7.  The message is stale, there's little team character,

chemistry and or substance.  I think the right package - coach, OC & QB - can  and should improve this teams lot.

We might slide a year (2 yrs max), but Id rather do that then watch a very slow, painful bleed job.

  12. All the above and nothings going to change until he changes made it to top.

The good news is if we bring in a good leader and fortify our talent we can be back in legitimate contention in the next year or two.   If Jacksonville can do what they did with that got awful situation a year or two ago there’s hope for everyone.
