  1. I like Stroud and the QB from TCU too
  2. Tsy, With this years squad, I have no expectations for this game or rest of season. About the only we can count on is ugly, grind it out, pound the rock and little to no vertical game (ca 100 yds/game) from here on out. Of course, the nastier the weather, the closer we can stay in games and make it interesting. That’s our best case scenario for the rest of the season and post season.
  3. IDK when or ever we’ll see another Ravens 2K defense - not in todays watered down and high octane offensive league the NFL fans want. But for this era, this defense -sans 1 or 2 edge rushers , shutdown CB and safety - while nothing close to the 2000 D is pretty good. in fact, if the offense held up it’s end and the team was playing complimentary ball, we could make a nice run like 10 yrs ago. Until we get that next franchise QB and correct offensive systems, we ll have to ride this D and running game.
  4. With our offensive system, if you want to call it that, it doesn’t really matters who is under Center . Of course in this season nothing should surprise any of us.
  5. Another game we are supposed to win convincingly. Ha! It'll be another barn burner. Our D will somehow, someway make the rookie QB look like Johnny U. Meanwhile, our O will struggle against an Atlanta D which plays tough and a team that still has hopes of winning the NFC South. Something tells me that if they were calling for Harbs & GRO's heads after last game, wait until after this one.
  6. The team desperately needs offensive leadership - from the coach, OC and Qb. Without it, the team just flounders - plays tough and gritty - but has no identify The “change” won’t happen soon enough. Until it does we will get further behind the elite teams - Buffalo, KC, etc.
  7. There’s another Trevor Lawrence in the draft. The kid from TCU, Oregon, etc. it’s time to make a move in 23
  8. Oldno, yep we are stuck - in jail- until next season. New offense, coach and QB. Anything - and I’ll take a 2nd, 3rd or 4th round QB and a new system - is better than this HS program. The sooner the complete offense overall, the better
  9. Proves again new offensive system, OC and QB needed. Lamar wouldn’t have made a difference tonight; all the more reason to gear up for changes to all three in ‘23. Next season w/ a replaced offensive program and QB with this defense gives me hope for a good future. Until then, we are stuck with this gut wrenching, painful pathetic offense for 3 more games. Don’t want, deserve any playoff talk. This team is 1-2 levels below KC & Buffalo - teams with an offense that deserve to be in SB hunt.
  10. I’m ok with just signing Smith and moving forward with Huntley and Brown as QBs, acquiring or drafting a new QB in 23. Gotta look to the future !
  11. Snoop or Brown; anyone know ? Also, what is the testing and threshold for clearing the concussion protocol ? A few more repetitions of repeating the months of the calendar in reverse ?
  12. Sure. although Snoop only played a half. Projected over a full game = 16/24 and 180 yards. Not stellar but serviceable. Don't sleep on Anthony Brown. Who knows; maybe this Irrelevant QB combo will surprise.
  13. IDK Max. Look at the 49ers. They are relevant without Mr. Relevant at QB. Maybe we ride with Huntley and Brown into to the playoffs.
  14. Guess that's why the Biscuit gets the big bucks. Not trying to get too far ahead of ourselves, but if I'm Biscuit/DeCosta I would: Tag and trade Lamar for high draft picks - focus on Roquan as the big off-season signing plus another WR Draft or a acquire a franchise QB - there's another Brock Purdy out there (fwiw- TCU's Max Duggan would like sweet in purple). Replace Roman at OC In the interim, plug Snoop and Anthony Brown in for the interim. Just my two cents ....
  15. Yepper, plus acquire/draft a pass rusher and clean up the secondary and our D will be fine.
  16. Yep, off season should be interesting stuff. In the meantime, we’ve got 4-5 games just like todays grinder special. I look for ever one - except the finale in Cincy - to be a knock down drag out.
  17. Yep forget who the QB is - ground and pound will be the rule from here on out !
  18. After today, I’m more convinced that life without Lamar is OK and pursuing a franchise QB in the draft or free agency is the way. Btw - I like Snoop - a lot- but he isn’t the long term answer but a helluva backup.
  19. I’d spring for the 2 1st rounders and go in a new direction with the next set of young guns !
  20. Good points Tsy although I would respectfully disagree on we’ve seen Lamar’s ceiling. I think after 4-5 years we know what we got. I just can’t see our teams future with him in it.
  21. My sense is this Lamar issue will come to a head early in the off-season - before FA and the draft. If I could be GM for the day, I'm tagging or trading Lamar. If he goes, we need the next franchise QB. We've observed Lamar for 5 yrs and believe we've seen his best. In the meantime, we will need a future QB to lead this team. I love some of these college QB's that are coming out. Its probably a crazy thought, but I would love to start over and draft a guy like the TCU QB Max Duggar. He's an Iowa kid and plays with a lot of energy, passion and has a very good arm. There are others - the USC, OSU and Bama QBs. Guys who are passionate and can lead. The longer we stick with Lamar, the longer we delay the inevitable. I'm ready to switch horses and move on. I hope the FO is, too. My humble two cents....
  22. Here we go .... lots of questions ..... Is Stanley playing, what JK, how about Marcus at safety? We need these dudes! Tough game Sunday in the 'Burgh. Steelers on the uptick, trending up. Cold, wet wx in the forecast. May need to return to pounding the rock in a relatively low scoring game.
  23. It seems a no brainer that we just concentrate on pounding the rock Sunday. Hopefully, Gus & Co are healthy. Since we have lost our passing game and that is Denver's strength on D, that's our key to success. Grind it out!
  24. IDK about gullible; maybe indifferent. As a successful biz owner, like his DC counterpart, he's got other fish to fry.
