The fact that they let Fouts walk took me by surprise. Ya think it just slipped through the cracks during the Crosby mess? I think overall he had a better year than our place kicker. Of course Loop was in his first year and not an UFA.

If you think Thorton is good, that's good enough for me since your recommendation of Monken was borne out.

One guy took his eye off the ball.

I think Rosengarten can be salvaged by improved coaching. We all know our line coach last year was a minus. This year they have a respected O-line coach who ought to be able to get Rosey back on track. We all thought Stanley was going to go down with an injury but it never happened. That doesn't mean it can't happen this year but we just might squeeze one more year out of him. Maybe we draft an OT with the 3rd pick...we've done that with success before. OG is a problem area. Again, though, 2 years ago Vorhees played pretty well before he crapped out under a different coach. Maybe he's salvageable too.

A stud DT is a must. A C is a must, a G to play opposite Vorhees is a must (he might already be on the roster). Some of our needs can still be plugged with a FA...there are some O-linemen still unsigned. We won't solve the TE spot this year. CB is a problem that might not be solved this year.

Some of these holes might also be filled with trades. EDC will have to prove his worth here but with 11 picks there should be a couple of opportunities.

We'll have to see what happens. Right now I'm not sold on anything. We'll see how much better our team will be this year by OTA's. A good draft, a successful trade, and a couple more free agents for the O-line should help.

Stanley survived last yr but he struggled planting his foot and holding the spot.  That ankle is a mess.

  3. I came to a conclusion yesterday.  Eric knows the team is in trouble.  He knows he can’t fix it fast.  He hires minter as a patsy to take the blame.  He points to trying to get Crosby and landing Trey as examples of look what I did to help minter.  When minter fails Eric survives for another few yrs of getting paid.

Shefty has to be full of it, no way any team could afford to pay two edge rushers $100 mil

I heard Trey said he had expected and hoped to play with maxx.  So the idea was out there.

    We didn't even exist though...wtf...

But I said Eric.  Eric has not been the gm the length of the franchise.  You chose to add in Ozzie yrs who did get contracts done early.  So since you chose to take my statement out of context and add in other yrs why can’t I look before Jerry?

So someone tell me this is good.  He played 7 games last year and is 2 years older than Crosby

Trey clearly quit on Cincy last yr.  Brown forced him to be there so he comes up lame and still gets paid.

You know I won't fault you for pointing out the lack of leadership since Ray and Ed left.  Lamar is no leader.  Talented yes, leader no.  Taking Ray out to prove your point works mathematically, but Ray was here before Harbaugh and there were some pretty dry years then too.  Ultimately, this is a clean slate now, but I'm not jumping to the conclusion we are on par with Dallas if you subset the data to prove your point.

The yrs under billick that sucked billick said I got my money do what you want.  He literally quit on the team twice.

As for the comparison between both franchises and bringing in earlier yrs I raise the 90s and Landry Dallas teams.  More sb wins.  More success.  But Eric as gm and Jerry as gm have very similar results.
