That deal was bad enough, but Oweh (who I don't even want on our team anymore) gets $100mil after a half a good season of output. Still shaking my head at that one.

That was just stupid.  They will regret that deal.

Over the last 18 years (2007–2024 seasons), the Dallas Cowboys have made 9 playoff appearances but have zero NFC Championship game appearances, frequently exiting in the Wild Card or Divisional rounds. They have a 4-9 playoff record in that span, often defined by "one-and-done" losses.

Key Playoff Results (Last 18 Seasons)
    • 2023: Lost Wild Card (vs. GB)
    • 2022: Won Wild Card, Lost Divisional (vs. SF)
    • 2021: Lost Wild Card (vs. SF)
    • 2018: Won Wild Card, Lost Divisional (vs. LAR)
    • 2016: Lost Divisional (vs. GB)
    • 2014: Won Wild Card, Lost Divisional (vs. GB)
    • 2009: Won Wild Card, Lost Divisional (vs. MIN)
    • 2007: Lost Divisional (vs. NYG) [1, 4, 6, 7]
    Key Trends
    • No NFC Championship: The team has not reached the NFC Championship game in 30 years.
    • Playoff Struggles: Despite strong regular seasons, they are often eliminated early, including losses to Green Bay (twice), San Francisco (twice), and the Rams in recent years.
Over the last 18 years (2008–2025 seasons), the Ravens have been a consistent playoff contender, going 13-11 in the postseason. They won Super Bowl XLVII (2012 season), secured 6+ AFC North titles, and reached the AFC Championship game four times (2008, 2011, 2012, 2023). [1, 2, 3]

Key Postseason Highlights & Trends (Last 18 Years):
    • Super Bowl: Won Super Bowl XLVII against the 49ers (2012 season).
    • AFC Championship Appearances: 2008, 2011, 2012, 2023.
    • Recent Results:
      • 2024 (Active): Reached the playoffs.

      • 2019: Lost Divisional (vs. Titans).
    • Overall Record: The team has maintained a high winning percentage, with a 13-11 record in the playoffs during this timeframe. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

    Again...shut the f up...

What’s that win loss record post Ray?  I said a long time ago that once the leaders left it hasn’t been the same.  So before Ray et al the ravens made the playoffs 100% of the time.  They had a 6-5 record in the playoffs.  That’s a .545 win rate.  They always won at least 1 game.

now post Ray.  We have missed the playoffs 6 times.  That is a 54% make rate.  In that time we are 4-7in the playoffs.  That’s a .364 win rate.  In 3 of the 7 yrs we were 1 and done.

so let’s look at Dallas.  We will make it fair and just look at the same 13 yrs as the ravens.  In that time they made the playoffs 6 times.  That is a 46% make rate.  In the playoff yrs they are 3-6 for a .333 win rate.  In the 6 yrs they made it they 1 and downed 3 times.

So in the same amount of time the ravens  missed the playoffs 6 times to the cowboys 7.  That’s a 54% to 46% show rate.  We were 4-7 compared to their 3-6.  That’s .364 to .333 win rate.  And both teams have a 1 and done in 3 different seasons.  So please explain how both teams are not incredibly similar in their success or lack there of?

Yes, a slightly better deal. Clearly he was more interested in the annual salary, not in total monies nor in winning, let alone winning a super bowl. So get your money for 3 years, then bounce and try to win a ring somewhere else.

No waiting on the tag number, no signing early, this was greed

I go back to the article I read many yrs ago asking an anonymous player how many players are just there for the paycheck.  He said 80%.

Ravens offered Likely the same contract last year, he declined.

The offered Lindy a similar deal, he took essentially the same deal from the Raiders.

You can offer anything 3 years out, some players turn it down. Guess what? We rarely hear about the offers that were made

The fact of the matter is; the Ravens are a pretty tight lipped org, they rarely give out contract offer news. We don't hear/read everything

The tag number for Lindy was 25.  Once he was up for that it became the new number.  If you make an offer of 4 yrs 80 mil in advance of the tag number bein* listed you probably have a deal.  He still he is right along with creed in kc.  Now he is making 2 mil over that tag number and that’s the tax.

eric doesn’t get deals done early.  Other teams do.  We really do resemble Dallas in many ways.  Sit back and allow the market to reset around us.

You're special papa, I don't think anyone else in the world saw every player along the offensive line regress, but you. 😀

I didn’t expect the whole ol.  I did think Stanley would falter.  I had questions at guard. But as a whole I didn’t see coming.

Plenty of tight ends in the draft who will do fine here, more athletic than Kolar, better runners after the catch

the problem is rookie te don’t tend to do well.  Most are a little weak and never asked to block in school so they aren’t ready yr 1.

    Oh yee of little faith...

We hit a complete reset on coaching philosophies with new coaches.  We brought in a guaranteed play maker on D after failing to draft one and feeling like the draft this year doesn't have one at our place IN the draft.  We haven't played a down yet and everyone is feeling like it's over.

We were contenders pre-season last year and didn't sniff the playoffs. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

I called for them to be far worse last yr than in 24.  I saw the ol as an issue.  We ended up being 2 games worse than I expected.

  6. If we don’t have a deal by the day before fa it’s not happening.  So he has about 36 hrs from now to ink.  It really to late now since you should be working deals now to ink on wed.  How can you work a deal when you don’t know how much you can spend.

Between the new coaches and the depth of offensive linemen in the draft, i am sure they will either teach them properly & or draft better quality.

Jones should take over at one guard, the other and depth may come from the draft. The biggest question now is center

on the holes part old I think is spot on.

I hope so Tsyl, but I have a lot of doubts. If Mads makes it back and comes back at the level he was at before, the defense will be set with Crosby providing 10-15 sacks/year. But the offense...that's a different story. I'm not sold on Jones yet. Haven't seen him play enough to tell. All told and excluding him, we need a center and two guards and a competent tackle to help out an aging Stanley. We could also use another receiver---maybe Dez finally gets an extended look there. Bateman is pretty good, I think. He just needs to be more involved in the offense. That's going to be up to Doyle to coax that out of him and Lamar.

And, speaking of Lamar, I want to hear in the next 2-3 days that he has signed an extension to give us cap relief.

So at the very least, we need several positions on the O-line and a functional wide receiver. Oh, almost forgot about TE. Have real doubts Andrews can play like he used to and currently there's nobody behind him.

Where we part ways is giving Lamar new money.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I hate it. We finally get a decent early-mid round pick and then poof it's gone along with next year's #1. Just like Tsyl says, we haven't drafted well in the 2nd round, not getting enough return on investment.

    I'm pretty pissed.

Hey we will have a top 10 in 27.   Doh.

Josh Allen learned them, even improved his accuracy

Josh did get more accurate.  He still at his best as a running threat.  That’s going to be done imminently for him.

It's not too late for Lamar if he truly wants to improve and one thing both Monken and Declan have stated, rather emphatically, is that Lamar wants and needs to continue to learn and improve.

The best outcome for the Ravens would be if Lamar negotiates an extension and continues to display a resolve to get better. Will it happen? I don't know, but he's earned the chance to try if he does those two things.

they are so busy tryin* not to piss him off bc he has no agent.  Lamar has already reached his apex.  It’s all downhill from here.  Do not give him new money.
