  1. Schefter bringing more information... I doubt he' spulling htis out of thin air: Adam Schefter @AdamSchefterRay Rice’s suspension begins Aug. 30, eligible for reinstatement Sept. 12. Also will be fined additional $58,000 on top of 2-game suspension
  2. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefterNFL is suspending Ravens RB Ray Rice for the first two games this season, per sources. The suspension is expected to be announced today. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefterSo Ravens RB Ray Rice now will miss opening games against AFC North foes Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. Sad, sad day.
  3. Can confirm, insane shoulder and core strength required for this one. Great move for a lineman who is constantly battling players by engaging his shoulders and core. Absolutely insane still.
  4. Yeah 100% agree to sign him now if we can get him for ~$5 Million. I'm not worried about him having a monster year though, I think the ball is going to be spread around quite a lot this year.
  5. I don't think you can write a guy off completely after one injury-riddled year behind a historically bad offensive line. You can probably say he isn't a Top 5 RB anymore, but you have no evidence he can't return to be a very useful player.
  6. I wanted to let Rice go as well but knew that wasn't going to happen. The real lesson should have been no long-term contract for a RB. I'm actually very happy Prisco did this, I don't think Rice is DONE quite yet, so this will be another thing that can light a fire under the guy.
  7. After making 500k a year his first 3 years, Tucker is going to want to take advantage of his play and take a big deal now. He might give some discounts going forward, but the guy is going to want at least 1 big deal.
  8. Joe certainly had a poor year last year, but I think he has flashed the ability to throw WR's open in his career. Asking a QB to throw WR's open WITHOUT time in the pocket is quite the task... He flat out hasn't and will likely never earn his contract, but he is an above-average QB. I'm excited to see what he can do with a Coordinator that can better utilize his natural gifts.
  9. Way too early for this IMO. I'll see him in a preseason game before any judgement.
  10. Everyone is way too stressed out about the run game. Just this time last year we thought we had one of the best 1-2 punches in the NFL. The blocking was almost all-time bad last year. Pierce will have a great year.
  11. Interested to see how this guy ends up, I've gotten drunk with him in DC a few times over the least year and I get the feeling he's enjoying life a bit too much and doesn't really have the work ethic necessary to become a starter.
  12. I didn't see WR as a need, Daniels, Smith, and most importantly... an improved RUNNING GAME, should help there. I did want a RT though, so picking up Winston or another vet is absolutely a must for me right now.
  13. That's a fantastic pick up, feel a lot better about not drafting someone already. Still hoping they bring in Winston on a 1 Year deal.
  14. Baltimore Ravens @RavensEric DeCosta said C.J. Mosley was the best player available on their draft board, and he would have been BPA at No. 10. This is why he's a Raven. As usual they go BPA.
  15. You can start 2 Tight Ends though, you can't start 3 ILB's. The good news is all these guys can cover, so perhaps we're going to be seeing some more LB-heavy formations next year? For the record I'm not hating on the pick, just hoping we have something in store for RT and Safety. We're going to have to get LUCKY to get 2 starters with 2nd and 3rd round picks at those positions.
  16. Mosley will be a stud, but we really didn't need a linebacker. Cowboys really fucked us by taking Martin.
  17. You do realize that not only do we have the 5th easiest schedule by record... but Pittsburgh comes to Baltimore for a Thursday nighter Week 2. Which means they get one less day of rest on a short week... We also have a bye before our MNF game in New Orleans. Overall, INCREDIBLY favorable schedule. Primed for a bounce back year.
  18. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/joe-flacco/ Will everyone just save this link already. Nobody has a clue what they're talking about with this contract. Yes, it is reasonable now, but it isn't a "3 Year Deal". If we cut him after Year 3 we get a 25,850,000 cap hit. We also owe him 28,550,000 in Year 4 of the deal, 31 in year 5 and 25 in year 6. We HAVE to renogotiate, but even if we do that, we are just pushing the cap hits further on. Eventually, this is going to come back to bite us a few years down the road.
  19. Toby is going to be good, but Jacksonville needs to fix its offensive line before it worries about RB. Neither of our backs is done yet, just a poor year on the line and some nagging injuries. I know he's basically a Rice duplicate, but if MJD is available in this price range I'd jump.
  20. The Steelers are being decimated this offseason, what kind of crack are you smoking that has them being an improved team next year?
  21. Would be a big fan of Winston, always thought he was a bit underrated and would provide insurance for a reasonable price.
  22. Aside from all the unnecessary homer-ism in this thread... Clark would be a solid pickup on the cheap for us on a 1 or 2 year deal. He's definitely aging, but we don't have many better options out there.
  23. Some great stuff from FiveThirtyEight (nerdgasm) on Steve Smith's dominance against the odds: http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/the-quiet-dominance-of-steve-smith/ http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=2657
  24. Jones did indeed operate as a 3-4 End for us, and I agree that his fit in Indy seems interesting unless they cut Redding. As for Guion, he's small enough to move from the 4-3 DT role to the 3-4 DE role.
  25. Good timing Grubber! Yeah very surprising he took this, I was expecting Denver to swoop in.
