Going for 100 tonight...
-
In the past the Ravens had a defense that would keep them in games. Now with Stanley is gone...now that there is no O line...the defense will be on the field all night and be totally gassed by the 4th quarter. 1st quarter they step into quicksand. 2nd...up to their thighs...3rd...chest level....4th????
-
This is no longer a playoff caliber roster. This line will put Lamar on IR this season because he only has a "GO" button...do whatever it takes to win. 16 game gauntlet ahead. We'll be seeing Huntley.
-
Ravens ruled out Stanley. He may be out for weeks. We're fucked.
-
I like Jaylen Hurts.
-
How about wins and MVP's?
-
FYI...Tyreek Hill receiving vs Browns...11 receptions for 197 yards!

Chiefs win percentage 55.8%. Ravens at +3.5 "What do you think of this Socrates? "Thanks for finding a medium who could channel me in from beyond the grave. Me and my buddies follow this board every day. There are other forces and energies at play here determining the outcome of this game. Doesn't it strike you as odd that the road team Ravens were given a 55.4% win percentage last week and that the road team Chiefs are 55.8% favorites this week? A basketball is round and where it will bounce is predictable. However a football is oblong and bounces unpredictably. That's why you play the game. Last week the Raiders, playing their home opener, came in it +4 and WON. This week the Ravens come in at +3.5 in their home opener. Co-incidence? Fate? Dionysia communes with Ravens daily and lavishes favors upon them. Poseidon has been influencing the bettors. Expect a shipwreck in a Purple Maelstrom! " Team Stats Points Per Game 33.0 27.0 Points Allowed Per Game 29.0 33.0 Total Yards 410.0 424.0 Yards Passing 337.0 235.0 Yards Rushing 73.0 189.0 Yards Allowed 474.0 517.0 Pass Yards Allowed 321.0 435.0 Rush Yards Allowed 153.0 82.0 The Mountain: As good as the Browns defense is supposed to be on paper, as good or supposedly great their D line is...Mahomes was only sacked twice and hit 6 times on 36 drop backs. Whenever Mahomes need to make a play, he did. The Chiefs put up 33 points on that D. The Ravens gave up 27 points and 424 yards of offense to the Raiders. See a pattern developing? See why Divine Intervention is necessary? And we have that! At last count the Ravens had 14 players on IR and it's only week 2. Having channeled in highly accurate information, in a high scoring, shock the world upset , the Ravens #2's beat the Chiefs 1's

One final observation that disturbs and disappoints me. Going into halftime I thought that the team that makes the best adjustments will win the game. John, Wink and Greg got outcoached. As soon as Ravens were up 14-0 I thought that they needed to add another 7 to 10 points before halftime if they were to win this game. Up to that point Carr was off target. Once he started getting his accuracy down and was feeling no pressure this game started slipping away.

On the plus side: Sammy Watkins 4 receptions for 96 yards for 24 ypc. Very good to see him fit in right out of the gate. Tyson Wilson nine carries for 65 yards for a 7.2 why PC. 35 yard TD run a thing of beauty. Three receptions for 29 yards for a 9.7ypc. Why was he not used in the second half. He also missed a block that led to Lamar getting sacked. Marquise Brown six receptions for 69 yards for an 11.5 ypc and one TD. He caught all six of his targets. Great way to start season Lamar Jackson 19/30 235 yards for 7.85ypp and one TD. Sacked three times for 18 yards with the 98.6 RTG. 12 carries for 86 yards for 7.2ypc. Two lost fumbles mar a very good performance behind a sieve of an offense line. Odefe Oweh Two solo tackles one sack one tackle for loss one QB hit in limited action. His first step is to fast for any tackle and his speed and athleticism showed. He's a weapon in development and is showing signs that he was a great draft pick. Shout out for Queen, Humphrey, Averett, Clark and Brandon Williams. Tucker made some clutch kicks and Koch have had a nice game punting.

Updates: Jamison Hensley on Twitter “Ravens placed OL Tyre Phillips on IR. He was carted off the field last night with a knee injury. Baltimore also released RB Trenton Cannon. That means Ty’Son Williams and Latavius Murray are only RBs on active roster.” Jamison Hensley on Twitter “OL Tyre Phillips becomes the 8th Ravens player (and 6th starter) to get placed on injured reserve over the last three weeks. The Ravens have a total of 14 players on IR, and it's only Week 2 of the regular season.” Jamison Hensley on Twitter “Ravens worked out four CBs today: Buster Skrine Darryl Worley Winston Rose Grant Haley Skrine (92 starts) and Worley (54) have the most experience. Rose (Bengals) and Haley (Saints) were released before start of the season.”

The Ravens don't have the personnel for Cover Zero anymore. You have to have shut down corners. 435 yards...There has to be a quick change in the scheme. That will mean QB's will have all day to throw....it's a pick your poison situation. Whatever, Wink has good personnel, now he needs to set them in place to stop this kind of bleeding game after game. Villanueva might be the worst RT in Ravens history. Kip Vickers was better. They have to get Boyle back and use 2 men to block 1... When the protection breaks down, then bad things happen with every QB in the NFL. That does not excuse Lamar from being sloppy with the ball. He should know better by now not to carry it in one hand, low by his waist like a loaf of bread with defenders all around him. Just stupid. Especially in crunch time, when teams are desperately trying to make a play and get the ball back. No argument that this is a pattern for Lamar in key losses during big games. On the road, costly turnovers usual doom the road team. Write that on the blackboard 100 times Lamar. Don't put Lamar in situations where he has to run for his life 55% of the time. Write that on the blackboard 100 times Greg. "We have to protect Lamar." Write that on the blackboard 100 times O line.

The Ravens gave up 435 passing yards. Mahomes up next.
-
Everybody was right on selling this.
-
Ravens are in last place in the Division. In the basement...with the Brownies. Under Harbaugh Ravens are 81-0 when they have a 14 point lead. Not anymore.
-
I agree. Imagine if Flacco was the QB. Then this game would have been a route as you foresaw. Again...it's too logical " no way they beat the Chiefs." I know I'm nuts...but maybe in the Ravens home opener, they do the same thing to the Chiefs as the Raiders did to the Ravens in their home opener? One can dream can't they?!
-
I'm with you on all of that. and...the Raiders are That Good. As far as KC...you know me......I'm not penciling in an L...not yet. Why? Because that is the totally logical thing to do. Hey...it's a 17 game season now. A lot can happen everywhere throughout the league. Let's lick our wounds today and then shift gears into the good and possible solutions and adjustments. All in All, it was a very exciting game that was lost in the 1st MNF overtime since 1974.
-
What happened? It's simple: The game is won in the trenches. The Raiders won that battle on both sides of the ball. The Ravens O line was smacked down and punked around by the Raiders. Lamar was pressured on 54.5% of his drop backs. He basically was running for his life as everything broke down around him. And then...as we have witnessed before....he tried too hard and too much to win it on his own...well....he fumbles. The Ravens D line generated 0 pressure. Carr was pressured only 20.3% of the time. He had all day to throw. Eventually the gassed secondary was exposed.

Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter “Ravens also don't announce any 53-man moves, leaving their roster at 51. Given how tight they are against cap, they didn't want to guarantee any more vet contracts, which adding somebody to 53-man ahead of Wk 1 would have done. Expect them to fill those 53-man spots this week.” Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter “Ravens also don't announce any 53-man moves, leaving their roster at 51. Given how tight they are against cap, they didn't want to guarantee any more vet contracts, which adding somebody to 53-man ahead of Wk 1 would have done. Devonta Freeman and Le’Veon Bell were not promoted. That means Ravens RBs tonight are: Ty’Son Williams, Latavius Murray and Trenton Cannon.”

I've been ready since 1/17/21...

Never heard it once. I have heard many times players saying that they love playing for him.

Buy or Sell: The Ravens get 2 sacks tonight

It's Time To Hunt! Jamison Hensley Jamison Hensley on Twitter “Lamar Jackson, who starts 2021 season on MNF tonight, is only player in NFL history to record multiple season-opening games with 80% completion rate and 3 TD passes. Jackson’s combined stats in last 2 openers: Comp-att: 82.2% Pass yards: 599 TDs: 8 Int: 0 Rating: Perfect 158.3”

Hard to say. We've had some season's...96, 97, 98 where the secondary completely melted down in the 4th quarter. There was a Steeler game back 6hen, where Kordell too over and had a big come from behind victory over the Ravens. I remember Manning leading the Colts to a come from behind win over somebody. They were down by 17 with around a minute 40 to go. That was amazing.
