No,that was the Center, Jason Brown who ended up in St Louis and Boller joined him. _________________________________________ Also Yanda will be 32 that yr. You can't go giving him new money. You do realize that while the Ravens cap goes up so does everyone else. Other teams will have more money to overpay. __________________________________________ Matt Birk was 33 in 09 when Ravens signed him as FA. He signed again @ 36 in 2012 then he retired in 2013.
-
Brian McFarland is the local CAP expert on the boards and he regularly goes on the radio with his numbers. He told me this; Yanda has one more year on his deal. I would think they would look to sign him to an extension after the season to lower his 2015 Cap number and keep him around. Given that they've already given him one extension, I don't see this as a "Grubbs" type situation. I agree. Two different situations and times.
-
So did I. We all knew Grubbs was leaving and they drafted KO who is approaching Grubbs level and will if he is injury free. Rice has everything to do with it with $9.5M in dead money vs the CAP. They always sign who they want and Yanda will be a priority, especially with all the probs the line had last year and now have been corrected. With the increase in CAP space Ravens should be in good shape to sign Yanda, if they want him. Anyway, I just looked it up and Yanda signed a $32M contract in 2011 for 5 years so it doesn't expire until 2016 which means he's here for 2 more years including this year. Grubbs followed the money trail and wanted to leave. According to this article Yanda wants to retire here. There will be an increase of another $20M in CAP savings by 2016 so Ravens can sign him if they want to. And Ngata will most likely be gone by then freeing up his $16M vs the CAP so that will create more room to take care of Joe and a priority like Yanda if he is one. It's a moot point to be talking about it now. Here's the article. http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2011/07/29/big-contract-wont-change-yanda/

They didn't have time with the pressure from Doooom and Brandon Williams etc. Mosley was chasing their QB around and pressuring him even though he didn't have any sacks. The pass rush will take care of our secondary.
-
The Ravens were $4.1M under the CAP ceiling before Rice was cut. They are currently about $8M under the CAP but in Sep Rule 51 of the CBA kicked in and that number went down to it's current level of $3M. Yanda will be a priority as will Jimmy Smith. They just exercised the option to keep him and pay him $9M pr yr. They can get them all done if they wanna.
-
They got away from it because of the pressure the D gave them. Doooom was getting in and Brandon was blowing them up the middle. We've been saying that the pass rush would take care of the secondary and it did after the 1st qtr.
-
Both Brandon and Ngata are taking up double blockers which is leaving plenty of room for Mosley and D Smith to roam around and get thru the line. They can't block out everyone. Brandon forced a fumble and recovered it. What another great Ozzie find. Mosley the rookie and #1 pick force the fumble and recovered the ball effectively shutting the Squeelers down and now the 2d year guy Brandon Williams does the same today while being doubled teamed. KJ from last year scored another TD and Wagner had another great game and demolished a guy on Daniels big catch and the undrafted rookie Hurst stepped up for Monroe today. I can do 150 lbs but I'm old. See Hurst thread. BTW, Brandon bench pressed 500 lbs twice during camp. That's like lifting two football players weighing 250 lbs at the same time.
-
Me thinks the defense rose up a few spots from #15 in the power rankings and especially the rushing rank after today's game with Panthers.
-
Punished his old team with 7 catches for 139 yards and 2 TDs. Man, are they sorry. And there were posters that said he was too old and didn't do anything last year. He's scored before today and has had a great camp and season. ILMAO. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2014092800/2014/REG4/panthers@ravens#menu=gameinfo%7CcontentId%3A0ap3000000402415&tab=recap

They were winning 24-20 late in game with TB moving but I left the water hole thinking Piss won. Then I came on here and saw this thread and said oh shit. Halelua. That damn bar had the Squeelers game on, then Ravens game next then Squeelers game then Ravens game. There were 4 Squeelers fans at the bar and two on the patio. I gave the two on the patio some shit.

I forgot about Yanda and Hurst can play OG and RT too if there is an injury there. I forgot to mention that Castillo had a long history in Philly of taking non- or lowly-drafed o-linemen and making them stars. Last year Yanda was the only o-lineman smart enough to learn his ZBS and he ended up calling the line plays. This year Kubes simplified the ZBS and what a difference a year makes - heh. Hurst did well in the ZBS today.
-
He didn't have to go vs Greg Hardy today who was on the exempt list but he had a good first game. Kubes also had a TE,Gilmore, helping him out plus in the first qtr they ran to the right, away from Hurst. So Hurst wouldn't factor in on those plays anyway. Finally, in the second half they ran to his side and he was fine. He was rushed and pushed his man past Joe. I also saw him get into the second level especially on Taliaferror's TD run. He did well in the ZBS pushing his man off the line while moving to his right. He wasn't drafted because he was injured, I think it was a broken leg or something like that. Then 20 teams tried to sign him at once. He chose the Ravens because he knew they had o-line probs last year and that was the best chance of making the team. Man, did he do his home work or what-lol. He not only made the team but started his first game and did well. I can see him being the LT some day, especially if he continues to develop and Ravens don't want to re-sign Monroe when his contract expires. Hurst was good in college and had 14 knock down blocks vs Miami, 12 vs Middle Tenn and 14 more vs Old Dominion playing for NC. Cinci will be a big test for him if Monroe is still out.

This from the Ravens site which is same as I've been posting. Ravens are easing Webbie back. He only played in 4 downs before. Pees, his D-Coord said practice speed isn't the same as game speed. This is what the radio guys said in week 1. He's not there yet. “When I saw it in the press box, I said, ‘He’s not there yet,’” Pees said. “And game speed is faster than practice speed. There’s no way to simulate it. But he has to keep practicing, and he has to feel very confident that he can do it. That’s half the battle playing the back end, you better feel confident that you can do it.” Webb, 28, went down with the injury on the second day of training camp and missed the entire preseason. He has been back on the practice field for the last several weeks, but the Ravens have been cautious about rushing him into full-speed action. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Getting-Lardarius-Webb-Back-To-Full-Strength-A-Top-Priority-/167e9867-b5e9-41f2-a25a-544b41633c34

The guys on the radio were talking about his conditioning being the problem. It's not that he reported out of shape. He was injured the first week and didn't play the entire summer or pre-season so he can't run at 100% full speed. Anyone who played football knows this. That said KO had back spasms and played last year in the beginning and didn't do so well. Finally, the pain was so bad he quit for the year and had surgery on a disc that was putting pressure on the spinal nerve.

I have the book and Bubba retracted it and apologized in a NY TIMES piece just like Pinky Lombardi always does. All Bubba had to do was look in the mirror to see who played so badly and speaking of Rosey, a Miami bookie said he laid down a bet with him for the game but as always he bet on the Colts - this time the bet was $3M. If the fix was in, Rosey didn't know about it. He owed millions to Vegas when he died and there was an investigation of foul play when he drowned off his Florida estate. Even his wife was questioned as a possible suspect but no evidence was found. Alex Hawkins book, which I also have, says Earl choked in the biggest game of their lives, plain and simple. Jimmy Orr didn't speak to Earl for 25 years until he saw him at a golf fund raiser. Earl walked up to him with tears in his eyes and said I never saw you, I never saw you and Orr said he was such a nice guy, how could I keep on hating him. Hawkins book also said Orr was the only guy who knew Earl was going to blow it. He had bad practices all week and he said we gotta slip Earl a mickey so he can't play or we're gonna lose. Shula told Costas recently that the Jets won because Namath beat the blitz and people forget that the Jets had a good team. The Colts were pioneers in the zone defense in the NFL but the AFL used it a lot so Namath knew where to find the dead spots and kept hitting his big WR for gains and their big RBs ran over the Colts and kept the ball the entire 3rd qtr except for the opening drive where Matte fumbled that led to a Jets FG. In the first half he had the longest run that still remains an SB record of 58 yards but he was so slow he was dragged down at the 8 yrd line and the guy that John Mackey knocked on his ass during the play got back up and was the one who caught Matte from behind so go figure. Colts should have scored then but Earl promptly threw an interception - 3rd one in first half alone. Like Hawkins said, he chocked but Matte should have had a TD he was so open running down the side line but they caught up to him. I asked Mattee if the game was fixed and he was furious and said yea, and Bubba fixed it. ILAMO

Pinky Lombardi? LOL. Good one. So what's your problem with him? What did he do to you? Doesn't offend me. I was just saying ya know, but you'll get laughed off sunspot and scout too if you say SB 3 was fixed. I'm the one who said Tony got his arm twisted when he recanted on the HARBs getting told to hire Kubiac piece. I said he acted like he was gonna lose his press pass. Vinny or Mikie never recanted but they worked for big medias. Tony is a little independent so I said either his pal DeCosta or the PR dept got him to change the story. I surprised he didn't ban me. Aaron banned me just for criticizing his subscription forum. All I said was, why pay for it when it's all over the net for free. A mod said he didn't like it because he uses it to pay for his Ravens trips because the CC Times couldn't afford to send him. Now the guys over there are saying the board has been in decline since he joined the Sun. A lot of posters are showing up on Tony's site and that's the problem, especially the guys that came over on sunspot. Tony literally stole half of scout's and sunspot's members. They have a lot of so called experts over there and a lot of pussies that like to hurl insults from the safety of their homes. I was the guy who took things off the board on scout and tracked down two posters who tried to bully me off the board about 10 years ago. . I was sitting in the middle of the hot tub when they showed up for the hot tub party and said now why don't you boys call me those dirty names you've been saying for the last 3 months. They didn't. They said they were laughing at me when they got back to the board but what they didn't know was, a martial arts expert who owed me a service trained me to kill both of them. I just wanted to shake them up a little..
-
UM, don't say that over on 24x7. They'll laugh you off the board. Point is, Unitas was rusty. Jerry Hill said he lost 80% off his fast ball and he kept missing Orr in the 4th qtr. No fixing there though you could argue Earl not looking Orr's way on the flea flicker. Alex Hawkins said the entire team waited the entire year for him to fuck up and he waited for the most important game of their lives to do it. It did look like the entire defense took the day off. Namath kept hitting all those open receivers with his quick release as he beat the blitz. Earl said guys weren't up for it. They beat Cleve for the NFL championship so they were the NFL champs. The merger wasn't completed yet.
-
With all due respect, have you ever played football? Were you ever injured and tried to come back from an injury? He deserved credit for playing despite not feeling 100%. Unitas came back from his injury being out all season and played in the SB. He couldn't pull it out as balls kept sailing over Jimmy Orr's head. He was rusty although he did lead the team to its only TD. He also threw an INT but couldn't connect with Orr who was wide open all day. Nobody could It's not pretty or easy especially with a back injury and I get back spasms.
-
Guys - It was his first game. He missed all of training camp and the pre-season so he's going to be rusty for a few games. I posted above that it's not his injury but his conditioning holding him up. He's not 100% ready to go really fast and won't be for a while.

LOL - Well, Monica's cum stained dress showed up later as it was proven she gave him blow jobs in he ovary office. Now you know why they called him Slick Willie. ILMAO Clinton was impeached you know. Or maybe you don't. Here's the link but you'll probably disagree with it but Larry Flint will verify it.. http://www.nytimes.com/1998/12/20/us/impeachment-overview-clinton-impeached-he-faces-senate-trial-2d-history-vows-job.html Get back to me when a dress shows up with Bisciotti's cum, or um, DNA is all over it and he's suspended and forced to sell.
-
Of course you disagree because of the hate but here's another error for you and the sources. AQ was a training partner for ray at Jakobe's training facility and not a random guy.. So those sources are great.. Yea, sure. When one of the few names released is proven wrong, you're in trouble. Thats the prob with bombshell reports. They blow up in your face. I'm sure you'll have an excuse for that one too like the KVV omission. BTW, ESPN must really be feeling the heat. They just suspended Simmons for a couple of weeks for being too hard on Goodell. ILMAO - they publish a phony report that has been shot to pieces about the Ravens but fire someone for attacking Goodell. Things aren't too kosher at ESPN.
-
That was after 95% or more of ESPNs story was proven wrong but KVV conveniently left out an important piece which is OK by you. You cant even agree they did something wrong after they made changes to the original story and the Shipley error. Now this omission and you make excuses for that. It's ESPN looking bad here not the Ravens. Yes, I'm new here but Im a veteran of posting since the earliest Ravens boards and I go on 3 boards now and while many will agree with you I haven't seen the hate and taking it so personal as from you. You keep making excuses for every major discrepency point out to you. Thats a personal slant vs Bisciotti. Your mind is so made up you can't see the errors and even if they did cover it up, they tried to protect someone they loved. That is only normal, not like Nixon sending a team in to get dirt on someone and then covering it up. I respect you and you can think what you want. I'm just forgiving the Ravens as they came clean with me and the espn story has been proven wrong but you can't see it. You will never enjoy Ravens again as you keep saying their office is so corrupted in the Rice case.

Rack it. Best post of the thread. Kudos to you.

We tried to get into the horse shoe bar in the last playoffs. That was the game after Ravens beat NE 27-7 or something and I thought we were going to the SB then but Indy killed us. Anyway, we tried to get into the place and the line was about 2 miles long of Ravens fans so we never made it in. We went to an Indy bar that was supposed to be an Indy party but there were nothing but Ravens fans in there too. I always keep cash around because I never know when I'm gonna travel. Someone might call and say lets go to Vegas or NY. So on a Fri night I get a call at 8 pm as I was walking out the door to go to a party. My friend had an extra ticket on the 50 yd line in the club level. His wife was sick and couldn't go. So by noon the next day I'm on a plane to Indy after partying all night. We land at 3 and get a rental car and go directly down town to the parties and then the game. Didnt get to bed til like 3 am. Then we got into the car to pay our respect to old man Irsay. It was weird. You drive into the cemtery and signs are all over the place saying rewards for vandals. We finally found the grave but cops were all over the place. There was a plains clothes cop pretending to be mourning at the grave next to him and an unmarked car at the top of the hill and another one at the bottom of the hill. There were 3 of us but nobody got out of the car. I said shit, man, it's a set up. They're waiting for us. Seems like every time there's a Ravens game the cops are by the grave. It's the most heavily guarded grave in the country. Fans on other boards always laughed at that story until someone pissed on Art's grave and nobody liked it but a long line of Ravens fans went out to Indy to do the same long before. It was funny then. One thing is for sure, the grave is in an appropriate place, on top of a hill over-looking the slums of Indy. I just can't understand him going out there. The town is a dump, a truck stop, nothing in it. People out there are bored to death. My nephew went to a college in Ohio about 2 hrs from Indy and he said everyone from there leaves the town as soon as they graduate. His best from was from Indy and came back here with him to escape. He said it's the most boring place in the world. Irsay always said he could make more money staying in bmore.

Right now it's his conditioning that's the prob. He needs time to run in a game at 100%. It's not the injury but his conditioning and even if he isn't 100% it will be better than what's there now and Will Hill is much better than what we have. Oz singed him to get him in the middle of the season when we need him the most. He's out only 3 more games. Also, the offense which was at the bottom of the pack last year is much better and scoring more to cover up for the defense. We still only lost 1 game we should have had and should be 3-1 after tomorrow with Webbie and Hill on the horizon.
