dc. Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 Also... just for fun... If Broncos lose now. Then Broncos and Jets lose next week. And Ravens and Steelers both win next win. Then Ravens and Steelers are in. Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 So basically we control our own destiny if the Broncos lose? Quote
vmax Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 "Forget about this one, it’s over and done with,” Mason said. “We just have to prepare for the next one, that’s all that matters. We win, we’re in.” Not so Derrick. Quote
dc. Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 Yes, if Broncos lose, we control our own destiny. If Jets lost, we would as well... but that obviously isn't happening. Eagles just yards from FG territory. C'mon, dammit. I can't believe I'm cheering for Philly. Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 THAT WAS A CATCH!!!! That Maclin is alright in my book. Eagles with the ball inside the 15 with less than a minute to go Denver has 1 timeout 55 seconds....2nd and 10 not 3rd and 7 from the 10 with 52 secs....philly has 2 timeouts Quote
colincac Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 This catch is so big for the Ravens, and it was a catch for sure. Let's see the call. Quote
dc. Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 Here we go.... 30 yards for the win. Will have to get through a kick-off and maybe hail mary, though.... Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Wooooo! 4 seconds left for the kickoff...30-27 Philly Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 We officially control our own destiny. Win next week against the Raiders and we are in. If Cincy wins and we win, we are the fifth seed setting up a game three rematch in Cincy. Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I'm really pulling for that round 3 game. Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 LMAO... ESPN says that Denver is ahead of us in Wildcard standings Ummm....Head to Head? Quote
83eh01 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 LMAO... ESPN says that Denver is ahead of us in Wildcard standings Ummm....Head to Head? Did they say this right after the game? Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 About 10 minutes ago on ESPN News Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Actually..Head-to-Head does NOT apply with 3 or more team ties Quote
vmax Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 ESPN is wrong. The Ravens control their destiny...win and they are in. Quote
colincac Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 ESPN is right... We win and we are in, but there are currently a few teams tied at 8-7, and with the retarded NFL tiebreakers, Denver is ahead of us and the head to head game doesn't matter... Quote
Guest BallTMore Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 LMAO... ESPN says that Denver is ahead of us in Wildcard standings Ummm....Head to Head? Because they're thinking of it as the Jets, Ravens and Broncos fighting for one spot, which is wrong. If all teams win next week, the Jets get the 5th seed. That leaves the Ravens and Broncos fighting for ONE spot, which is broken by the head-to-head tiebreaker. Ravens are in. The head-to-head wouldn't matter if all three of these teams were fighting for one spot, which would put the Broncos and Jets in, but that's not the case. Win and we're in. No if's, and's, or but's. Just win. Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 If we win and Cincy wins next week, we get the five seed no matter what. If the Jets win against the Bengals, we get the sixth seed no matter what and play the Pats. Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Whew...was worried for a bit. Should have known not to listen to ESPN. They didn't seem real sure about that whole thing. Quote
vmax Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Ravens still control own playoff futureThe Ravens still make the playoffs if they win at Oakland in the regular-season finale. If the Ravens, New York Jets and Denver all win -- the 8-7 teams with the best conference marks -- the Ravens and Jets would reach the postseason, the NFL confirmed. The Jets would reach the playoffs as the No. 5 seed over the Ravens and Broncos because of a better record among common opponents. The Ravens then would get the edge over Denver because they beat the Broncos in the head-to-head meeting earlier this season.http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2009/12/ravens_still_control_own_playoff_future.html Quote
