Oldschool739 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Saturday, March 15Ravens Interested In DT Guion (7:59 p.m.)Baltimore has displayed interest in former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Letroy Guion, reports The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson. Guion, 26, is a 6-foot-4, 303-pound lineman that could help offset the loss of Arthur Jones. Guion is visiting with the Packers Sunday and Monday and the Patriots are also reportedly interested. Oldschool739 Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Wasn't Jones a DE? Would he be replacing Cody?http://www.indystar.com/story/colts-insider/2014/03/10/colts-interested-in-signing-ravens-free-arthur-jones/6265025/ How would Colts use Ravens DL Arthur Jones? But what I find interesting about this is the fact that Jones' natural position is not the one at which the Colts need immediate help. Indianapolis hasn't shown any urgency to re-sign 2013 starting nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin, who becomes a free agent on Tuesday when his one-year contract expires.Interestingly, Jones is considered best as a defensive end in a 3-4 defense. In the Colts' defense, that's a position currently occupied by another former Pagano pupil from Baltimore, Cory Redding. Ricky Jean Francois is considered the defensive tackle. Quote
colincac Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Jones did indeed operate as a 3-4 End for us, and I agree that his fit in Indy seems interesting unless they cut Redding. As for Guion, he's small enough to move from the 4-3 DT role to the 3-4 DE role. Quote
