papasmurfbell Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/18/report-ravens-offer-contract-to-ed-dickson/ Report: Ravens offer contract to Ed DicksonThe Ravens got a jump on free agency by re-signing tight end Dennis Pitta to a long-term deal and they have designs on holding onto their other veteran free agent tight end as well.Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the team has made a contract offer to tight endEd Dickson. Per Wilson, Dickson has also drawn interest from teams including theJaguars, Jets, Giants and Bills and, as a result, has not accepted the offer from Baltimore.Dickson’s 2013 season wasn’t the strongest argument for a sizable payday. Dickson had 25 catches for 273 yards and a touchdown despite making 14 starts while Pitta was making his way back from a hip injury. It was the second straight down season for Dickson, who had 21 catches in 2012 after setting a career high with 54 catches during the 2011 season.Matt Furstenberg is the only tight end other than Pitta currently under contract in Baltimore, so the Ravens could be in the market for additional help at the position even if Dickson winds up returning for a fifth season with the team.I did not expect this. Robjr83 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I heard one of the janitors at The Castle retired.... promote from within Quote
tsylvester Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I have to say, shocked they would be looking to bring Dixon back. His questionable hands, poor routes and average at best attempts to block all speak to not needing him. Daniels is out there, as mentioned in the article, a good blocking te in Furstenberg is on the roster and the draft is 3 rounds if not four rounds deep with tight ends all better than Dixon..... Money Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I have to believe Kubiak would have input in this decision. He must see value in Dickson. Quote
Robjr83 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Dickson - 25rec 273yrds 1td Pitta - 20rec 169yrds 1td and Pitta spotted him 12 games 1 Quote

Oldschool739 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I have to believe Kubiak would have input in this decision. He must see value in Dickson. Dickson would be depth and on the cheap cheap or he ain't coming back here.....Someone mentioned Daniels but he is more like Pitta and does not excel at blocking....Ozzie is waiting for last minute cuts and the draft for that TE, along with FS, RT, C and WR.....IMO Quote
