cravnravn Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Orioles record on days of the week In case you were wondering:Mondays 8-3Tuesdays 6-5Wednesdays 9-5Thursdays 8-4Fridays 7-9Saturdays 9-8Sundays 6-10 So we should beat the Angels tonight Quote
dc. Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 We have never played well on Sundays. Remember a few years ago when we lost something like 20 straight Sunday games in one season? Quote
varaven45 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 You called that Crav. Following your logic, tonight's game is a tossup ? Quote
ForceEight Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Not much of a tossup tonight. Gonzo pitched a really good game. Hoping we finish them off tomorrow and make this a winning road trip so far. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Actually pretty competitive until Schoops blow. But the W is sweet and an Os Series win is secured. A sweep would be awesome. Quote
cravnravn Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 And according to the chart, we should win on Wednesdays.. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 We need some "mo" going into Seattle - tough weekend series and even tougher pitcher matchups than LA. We've drawn relatively favorable matchups w/Halos; not so favorable against the Ms. Plus, Seattle has been tough on the Os- witnessed many a late night horror show (blown save/walk off hit) in that joint. Still, we've already exceeded my expectations thus far in LA'; lets see it carry over to Seattle. Quote
dc. Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I don't think there are any favorable matchups with the Ms - their rotation is good. But I am thrilled with our play against the Angels - they have been one of the hottest teams in the league for the last two months. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Yep. Huge series win; could pay dividends later. Quote
ForceEight Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Today is still important, though. I think it'll be our toughest game...Weaver has been hotter than Tillman lately. And who knows what's going on with Machado? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Why don't they do halter top night again? Quote

ForceEight Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Lough and Flaherty are in the lineup tonight. Reconsider? Quote
ForceEight Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Unfortunately, those two accounted for three of our six hits... Weaver pitched a solid game. Tillman was good, but his fly balls are getting scary. Hunter was Hunter. Take the series win and move on. Quote
cravnravn Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Thats what its about, take the series onward to Seattle Quote
dc. Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Tillman has always been a flyball pitcher. I worry more that Tillman can't get through 6 innings without throwing 100+ pitches. So then we have to bring in Tommy Hunter for 2+ innings and watch him walk three and give up a pair of runs. Quote

cravnravn Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) Not to question Buck, but if Tillman could have given us 1 more inning.100 pitches is really not that many, then bring in Matusz, maybe the situation would have turned out differently. Edited July 24, 2014 by cravnravn Quote
dc. Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 But you're forgetting that Hunter went two innings ... and Tillman didn't have another inning in him. It's his job to get people out in an effective manner. 105 pitches in 6 innings is about 18 per inning. Not huge, but not good either. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 2 innings , much less 1, is too long for Home Run Hunter. Quote
cravnravn Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 off day today, our most successful day of the week Quote
