Robjr83 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Tis the end of August like the changing of the season fellow gamers go to pickup there latest copy of Madden. Being forced to shell out $60 for slightly better graphics and an updated roster. Hoping this year will be better than the last. So disappointed with last years game. No interactive crowd or sidelines like they promised. Most frustrating is the glitchy blocking, getting sacked and looking on replay as your OG or OT stands there as a DE runs by them untouched since they're fixed on a LB 15 yards away. These are 90+ rated guys. I guess when you own the rights you can throw out garbage since your the only game in town. Quote
Spen Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I picked mine up at lunch. I am interested to see how it looks on PS4. I don't think EA was ready for next gen. Gone from ps4/xbox one Madden is the 3 on 3 group play. That's not a huge deal, but it was fun. The next gen NHL game will be without its EASHL this year and that's huge. No more leagues, online teams, or pickup 6 on 6 games. That's huge. I love the game but I wont buy it without it. Quote
Spen Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 At a quick glance I like it a lot. It seems really different to me, especially on defense. Quote
RavenMad Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I might have to pick up a copy of this one after they cancelled the NCAA series due to ongoing litigation. I really started to prefer NCAA over Madden the last couple of years and haven't bought Madden since the 2012 version. Quote
ForceEight Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I bought Madden 25 and returned it within three days because of how similar it still was to Madden 11, the last EA game I'd bought. It's not just Madden. Play two FIFA games a few years apart. When they still had the rights to the NASCAR series, it never changed one iota year to year; they'd just update the sponsors and repackage it. Miserably awful company. Quote
Robjr83 Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 Got it last night but haven't had time to play it. Madden use to be really good in the PS2 era. My two favorites were the Vick one were you could hot route a receiver mid play, and the Shaun Alexander one were you could lead block. Lead blocking was so damn fun. I like what they did last year with the XP skill sets. I love franchise mode and would like to see more draft based stuff in the game. The mini camp games were fun too. RB challenge trying to break tackles, and WR and the jugs machine. Quote
Spen Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 If you like mini games wait until you see how many this one has. Quote
Robjr83 Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 Overall first impression was good. Love the player lock on offense, got to do some FB blocking. I guess they listened to us. Suggs was a beast on the end. The camera angles and overall style change will take some getting use to. Quote
Spen Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 nevermindYeah Phil says something about it getting warm in the booth.....then it starts Quote
Robjr83 Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 Yeah Phil says something about it getting warm in the booth.....then it starts Nah its when the Papa Johns guy delivers the pizza to the press booth and Simms doesn't have the $$$ to pay him. Quote
Spen Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Nah its when the Papa Johns guy delivers the pizza to the press booth and Simms doesn't have the $$$ to pay him.Yeah, then Phil says "I think our friend Cravn can help us earn this pizza". I love the new defensive camera and I want to use it.....but its hard! At least to me. Quote
Robjr83 Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Yeah the defensive camera is on an angle which makes pushing downfield towards the qb seems harder. Quote
