It doesn't take a statistician to understand that the Ravens' win at Miami on Sunday was a huge boost to their playoff chances, but exactly how much did it increase their odds of making the post-season? According to this statistical analysis by FootballOutsiders.com, Baltimore's 28-13 win over the Doplhins increased the Ravens' chances of making the playoffs by 35.7 percent -- the biggest jump by any team in the NFL last weekend.

The site, one of best places on the Web for in-depth statistical NFL analysis, says the Ravens now have a 80.5 percent chance of making the playoffs. That's the fourth-highest percentage of any team in the AFC, behind only Denver (99.99 percent) New England (99.7 percent), Indianapolis (98.4 percent).

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens' path to the playoffs became even clearer Sunday.

The Ravens (9-5) moved into the No. 6 seed in the AFC after they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars and the San Diego Chargers (8-5) lost to the Denver Broncos. If the season ended today, the Ravens would play at the third-seeded Indianapolis Colts (10-4) in the wild-card round.

Even though the Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers share the same record, the Steelers get the No. 5 seed because of a better division record. The Ravens are 2-3 in the AFC North, and the Steelers are 3-2 in the division.

The Ravens are also a half game behind the first-place Cincinnati Bengals (9-4-1). They still have a shot at winning the AFC North (and gaining a home first-round game) if they win out and the Steelers and Bengals each lose one game in the final two weeks.

The Ravens have the most favorable remaining schedule, finishing at Houston (7-7) and home against Cleveland (7-7), two teams that could be starting rookie quarterbacks. The Steelers are home against Kansas City (8-6) and Cincinnati, and the Bengals are home against Denver (11-3) and at Pittsburgh. http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/
