tsylvester Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/ndamukong-suh-lands-dollar114-million-contract-with-dolphins/ar-AA9x3fv?ocid=U142DHP Suh plans to sign with the Miami Dolphins when free agency opens next week on a deal that will pay him roughly $19 million per year, a person familiar with the deal but not authorized to speak about it publicly told the Detroit Free Press. The contract, first reported by ESPN, will pay Suh about $114 million over the next six seasons, includes about $60 million guaranteed and vaults him past J.J. Watt as the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL.
Robjr83 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Albatross of a contract if I ever saw one. Hopefully he can get a few cheap shots in on Brady this year.
papasmurfbell Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 The guy is very good. But I agree that contract is ridiculous.
Robjr83 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 He is very good. I just know they're trying to unload Wallace now due to overpaying him. Compare him to Watt and I'd take Watt in a heartbeat, far better character guy and just as disruptive.
papasmurfbell Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Totally agree. What you are talking about is exactly why I don't believe in making big FA splashes. It also gets to my point of trading star talent for picks.
papasmurfbell Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I think this Suh deal precludes Ngata taking a pay cut.
tsylvester Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 I think this Suh deal precludes Ngata taking a pay cut. Maybe, Ngata is good, but not on the level of Suh. No one will pay him even close to the Suh deal.
papasmurfbell Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 No the Suh deal changed the landscape of the position on payroll. It is just like the Haynesworth deal.
