papasmurfbell Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Pretty stunning loss by Ronda. Her game plan was really bad for fighting Holm. Now she has to go back to the drawing board and fix some flaws. Quote
RavenMad Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Yeah I think Rousey thought she was invincible and could just charge in against any opponent and overwhelm them. Credit to Holm, she had a great game plan and executed it to perfection. I still think Ronda can beat Holm but she needs to come up with a better game plan. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 Was it her game plan or Edmon's. He said days after the fight that he thought she was striking well with Holm. He is the one who keeps saying she is one of the best strikers in the world. She is good but she is not near a world class boxer. Quote
RavenMad Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Totally agree. Ronda may be a good striker but would get killed in a boxing match which Holm proved. Rhonda doesn't move well enough for boxing. She takes awkward striking angles and doesn't know how to avoid strikes. Don't get me wrong, when she hits you its over but against an experienced operator like Holm, Ronda's tactics where all wrong and that's on her and her coaching team. In the rematch she has to sit back a bit more and counter. Holm wasn't putting any combos together because she was striking and then getting out of there to avoid the grapple. Ronda needs to learn to avoid the punch and then quick counter especially if she can get Holm to move onto her back foot. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 If I were in Ronda's camp. I would work the leg kick. It gives distance. With that she also has to work her double and single leg take downs. For Ronda to get in for the Judo toss she has to walk through the hands to get to the body. If she gets there at the waist that is negated. From there Ronda has amazing transitions on the ground and can get to the arm or another submission. Quote

thundercleetz Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Wow what a card! The Rockhold-Weidman fight was spectacular and McGreggor shocked everyone. What an insane quick exchange of punches, Aldor was knocked out cold and then was in complete disbelief. Took me a second to realize what even happened. Romero-Souza was a great fight to watch, went down to the wire. Romero is an absolute tank. The guy is jacked. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 Romero is huge. If he is in a 5 round fight I think he is in trouble. Quote
