vmax Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Joe Flacco and his contract was the Ravens albatross but the league has quite a few.... Because with his three-year, $84 million, fully guaranteed contract, Cousins is set to become one of the biggest albatrosses any NFL team has at any position. The first-year cap hit of Cousins' contract-$24 million-isn't that egregious, but things get worse pretty quickly. His cap hit bulges to $29 million in 2019 and $31 million in 2020, and given the guaranteed aspect of his contract, there's no wiggle room. If Cousins proves to be the liability he was in 2018 in later seasons, the Vikings would take on huge amounts of dead money by releasing him-$60 million next year, and $31 million in 2020, per OverTheCap.com..........https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/in-loss-to-bears-kirk-cousins-proves-once-again-to-be-minnesota%e2%80%99s-dollar84-million-mistake/ar-BBRD4gf?li=BBnb4R7&ocid=U508DHP Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 I said durng FA that that was a dumb contract. If they do not win a SB within that 3 yrs it was a really stupid move. I don't see them doing it. Quote
