With Koch's move to the elite level, its absolutely necessary the FO makes the proper acquisitions/picks (pass rusher, CB and S) to compliment Koch's talents. Pinning the opponent inside the 20 or 10 yd line is great so long as you keep em there. I cannot take many more nerve wracking "prevent defense" 90 yd drives by Big Ben next season. While the past two years classes still need more time to be certain about, their early production hasn't been what us fans are used to. I'm happy that we brought both Cundiff and Koch back because it sets the table for our special teams play to excel for a while. Quote

yagersports Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I'd like to see us trade back in the draft if possible, perhaps picking up a few 2nd rounders. I'd also like to see get something for the Vet players that we know will walk anyway. For instance, we knew that Adalius was gonna walk, we knew that we could not afford him, why not trade the guy and get picks in return? Also, we could have done the same thing with Bart Scott. I'm sure it's not as easy as it sounds, however if we absolutely know we're losing the guy to FA, let's get something back from the draft. Thomas and Scott while good players, did not propel us to the SB either year we kept them for their last remaining year. I also doubt that either one of them were the extra link that propeled us to the playoffs. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Oh yeah I agree. I have said it for yrs. The problem is Ozzie keeps so many and doesn't see guys he will trade away early. The fan base always screams if there is ever a possibility that a major piece could be pushed off. The Pats and Squeelers are willing to push out older players. I think they have been more successful than Bmore. Quote
