Where have the trick plays gone

Watching bill rams.  Buf punted away with just under a min left in the half.  They were in 4th and 2.  Why not a fake punt?  I can’t even remember the last fake punt I saw.  I get they changed the rules.to eliminate the onside kick or the fake kick for the point after.  Why did the fake punt go away?
