tsylvester Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Amazing, much hubbub about him falling in the draft. Anyone who said anything negative about him labeled a hater, a racist hater too boot. Now that he has had 1 preseason game, against yes, the same talent level he faces in practice, many store clerks, UPS drivers, maybe even an influencer to two, and did what he should have, played very well. He has "shut up" his critics, "silenced his haters". Notice all the Trey Lance lovers, back when he was in the draft, have hidden their heads the past 2 years. Some are coming back to proclaim him the greatest, after his showing in his preseason game. Yes, had he been Dieon's son, their would be protests why he has played the past 2 years, why was he traded, twice. But Dieon's real son gets the pressure, the praise, the signs being made to protest Joe Flacco being qb1 for the Browns. I have no idea how good or bad Sanders will be, but these "analysts" now adays are absolutely horrible. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9 Posted August 9 He played well. For getting limited reps in practice that’s great. The thing I always liked about him was the accuracy. I think he will be the starter at some point. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 I agree, he played very well. But to go on an boast he is a future hall of fame, Ryan Clarke, or a sure fire starter/pro Bowler goofy Dan Orlofski, just gets my goat, not too mention what some other pundits are saying. Note: I do not watch those morons, simply scanned the head lines from them. Today's analysis by these so called experts is hysterics, plain and simple. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I like Ryan. On some things I can’t agree. Dan is not correct on any qb. I do think some guys are pushing back on some nfl front offices with sanders. I would have selected him. I love his accuracy and the stand in there. They can teach him to pick his spots. He seems smart as a whip. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 10 Author Posted August 10 Ryan is a race baiter extraordinaire. The biggest whiner on television. He is one that calls any white person who does not agree with him a racist, African Americans he calls uncle toms. I used to like him back when all he would do is analyze plays & games, share a story about practices and games. As soon as Espn embraced the yell at me shows, he changed. Check out Marcellus Wiley's pod casts on Ryan, hysterical and quite informative Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Oh I have issues with Ryan. When he said Lamar is th3 first authentic black qb he was full of shit. So Fritz pollard is a load of crap? What about Doug Williams? If I were mahomes I would take that personally. Like many Ryan can get hyperbolic. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 10 Author Posted August 10 I like Williams, never heard of the other guy Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 10 Posted August 10 He was the first black qb. At the time he took tons of cheap shots with guys trying to hurt him. He played after ww1 through the 20s. He wasn’t put in the hall until 05. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 10 Author Posted August 10 Ah yes, a true pioneer and brave man, thanks papa Quote
tsylvester Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 Skyler Thompson Steelers, completed 20 of 28 passes for 233 yards and 3 touchdowns. Will Clarke and his cronies proclaim him qb 1, he'll of Fame bound? I think not Quote

papasmurfbell Posted August 25 Posted August 25 My understanding is the guys he played with were so bad he had no chance. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 Really? Despite having open receivers? even when his pocket time was limited? Or just moving the runningback to the other side, where there is not another reciever going into the flat? A safety valve as it were? Not drifting in the pocket, taking away blocking angles for the linemen? These are simple things, that don't rely on the skill of the other players and would get first downs, show improvement, on his part. These are the very things, and other issues, that had him rated as a 5th round qb. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 25 Posted August 25 I didn’t watch the game. Hell I only saw that opening play in your vid. That Lt effectively became a turnstile. What did the kid have a second and a half before the defender was on him. That’s pathetic. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 Marcel broke it down well, as did Chase Daniels, all of his games as well as some of the other rookie qbs Fact of the matter is, if not for his name, there would not be much ado about him, then again, they made a huge deal about Trey Lance, but I digress Quote
