tsylvester Posted Tuesday at 10:40 AM Posted Tuesday at 10:40 AM Yep, it is that time of year, cooler nights, milder days, leaves changing color and the Ravens are getting into their schedule. Up next that pesky Browns team that has actually played some pretty good football so fsr this season. Records generally matter not when these two teams do the tango, the resentment, disdain, that they have for each reaches deep in their souls. Okay, that is a bit much, sorry, overall the Ravens lead the series 39-15, and hold the longest win streak in the series, 11 wins in a row from 2008-2013. But what does any of that mean for this Sunday? Nothing, and maybe a little something. Will Lamar play remains the biggest question for most. But perhaps an even bigger one is at rhe center position, will Cam Jergens play, and second to it, how will he play, will the line perform? Cleveland is 29th in the league in total yards on offense, averaging just 273 yards per game. Deshawn Watson is averaging just 179 yards passing per game , as a team they are averaging 94 yards per game on the ground and 18 pts per game. On defense, they are 20th in the league in total yards per game, 335, 216 through the air, 117 on the ground. They have 16 sacks on the young season, with 4 interceptions and 10 touchdowns through the air. Allowing teams to score 22 pts per game. These two teams know each other, even though both have new coaches, the Ravens are familiar with the Browns head coach, Todd Monken, their former offensive coordinator. So, who ya got? Quote
tsylvester Posted Tuesday at 09:51 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 09:51 PM Here is some good news My understanding is Chris Moore will re-sign with the Ravens practice squad, so the plan, at least as of now, is for him to stay in Baltimore. He's a vested vet, so he doesn't go through waivers. Jeff Zrebiec @jeffzrebiec The Ravens announce that they've released WR Chris Moore from the 53 and they've also released WR Xavier Guillory from the practice squad. They're due to get back rookie WR Ja'Kobi Lane. Quote
oldno82 Posted Wednesday at 03:46 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:46 AM The Browns looked good for a while then reverted to form last week. I don't know which version will show up. No matter what, we have to be prepared for an afternoon of smashmouth, trash talking, tough football that is the rule rather than the exception in the AFC North. It'd be nice to have Lamar back if he's healthy. He adds several dimensions to our offense. Hendrickson might be back with Ja'Kobi as well. Quote
krf82 Posted Wednesday at 01:22 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:22 PM The Ravens potential within a few weeks is far greater than anytime in recent years, especially given the fresh minds coaching and accepting players input. "These are the voyages of the Ravens' starship. It's multi-year mission; to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new offensive and defensive civilizations. To boldly go where Baltimore has gone before -2000 & 2012." (sic) Quote
tsylvester Posted Wednesday at 01:32 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 01:32 PM Too funny Kr, each game is a step up toward either the Super Bowl or down to vacation. Quote
tsylvester Posted Wednesday at 07:32 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 07:32 PM Jurgens and Lane at practice, no Lamar at the early one. Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 07:05 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:05 PM Welp, another day, another practice missed. Everyone heals differently Quote
oldno82 Posted Thursday at 07:46 PM Posted Thursday at 07:46 PM I think it's going to be another Snoop day this week Would feel better of course if Lamar was able, but I'd rather have him ready for sure for the Bengals after this week's game. We face a tough slate of games after the Browns. Not to say they couldn't punish us either with Monken. Do you know if Monken calls the offensive plays for Cleveland or does he have his OC do it? tsylvester Posted Friday at 05:29 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:29 PM No practice for Lamar today, so it appears, Huntley will play. Yep, Todd calls the plays. It should be interesting if the defense will have good recognition of the formations. Quote
tsylvester Posted Friday at 07:52 PM Author Posted Friday at 07:52 PM Lamar officially ruled out, Hibs had a cast on his hand, no word yet if he will play. Quote
oldno82 Posted yesterday at 05:32 AM Posted yesterday at 05:32 AM I read that Lamar doesn't have a high ankle sprain, but he doesn't have a 'low' one either. They called it a mid-ankle sprain. Guess that means recovery time is somewhere in-between. Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 10:18 AM Author Posted yesterday at 10:18 AM When we were kids, an ankle sprain was an ankle sprain. Ice, elevation and rest were all that was needed. Maybe a wrap the first week back. Shoot, my dad gave us a day of rest, then told us to walk it off. We were always back to running and jumping a week later. Now adays, surgery, or 3-4 weeks on crutches. Oy Hendrickson is not on the injury report, should be playing. Quote
