yagersports Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Now the lack of yards are hard yards? Cmon....this is ridiculous. The Ravens shut him down. Deal with it. There was one year where it was bad and you are fixated on it. Give me a break......hard yards. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 No MJD last yr got the hard yds. He was not getting a very good RPC average toward the end but that clock kept going and the Ravens ran out of time to get back in. Quote
yagersports Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 So now the argument is changed to MJD? I thought we were talking about Benson. Son you've got to get your argument in order before you type. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 No my argument holds true. It is the same thing. Grinding out the hard yds. Foster last yr in the playoffs didn't have to grind. He was runnig easy. By memory Benson only had 1 easy game running on the ravens. Most of the mine he is doing the dirty work. Quote
yagersports Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 So first he ran all over the Ravens and the Ravens couldn't stop him. Now, after seeing the stats, he got the hard yards that killed the Ravens? How many times has Cincy beat the ravens in the past 3-4 years? More importantly how many playoff games have they won? How many times have they even made the playoffs? All of this doesn't matter because it's not part of the argument. You argument was that Benson killed the Ravens. He ran on us and was completely effective. As Crav has already posted that's not the case. It's just not the case. You can make stuff up about the "tough" yards, but the fact is, and the end of the day, you are simply wrong. Benson has been effective against the Ravens. True. Benson was more ineffective than he was effective against the Ravens. Truer. Benson would not be a good addition to this team. Truest. Quote
cravnravn Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Benson is more a 2008 rusher (10 carries for 17 yards) then he is a 2009 rusher..Hows the saying go, A blind squirrel will occasionally find a nut. And if you think that whomever picks up ced is going to get the 2009 version, better think again..1973 The Chargers thought they were getting Johnny Unitas, how'd that turn out for them? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 But the 73 Chargers were looking for a starter. Benson would be a backup and get to sort distance carries. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Then the Ravens were getting the great Leon Searcy of teh Squealers? Quote
yagersports Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Ricky Williams was a good backup. LT would be a better option than Benson. I get that you're thinking back-up but Benson is done period. He doesn't have what it takes to play a reduced role. It shows in his prima donna bs. Quote
cravnravn Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 That was a misfortune that happened to Searcy.. But your missing my point, Ced is finished, why do you think not one team in the NFL is even offering him vet minimum? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/8419/cedric-bensonI see 3 consecutive 1000 yd seasons. Before Searcy got here he was a walking injury. The Ravens paid him off his reputation from yrs earlier. Quote
yagersports Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Do you enjoy looking foolish or are you just so unbelievably self absorbed that you can't fathom that you would be wrong about something. Quote
yagersports Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 You insist doom and gloom and you call me yellow? Do you know what that means young sir. You see, when you call someone yellow, it implies that they are scared of something. It's used to antagonize someone. Now, considering this conversation has little to do with fear and much more to do with Cedric Benson and whether we should sign him, perhaps you could pick an insult that is more suitable. Perhaps you could state I have a lack of intelligence and provide facts to support that. Your facts have failed you here, so we'll move to another more suitable insult. Perhaps you could state that I stand apart from everyone else so therefore the ground that I stand is shakey at best. Unfortunately I see little in the way of support for you, so this insult will not work either. Ok....now I get it, you had little else to fall back on, so you relied on the message board equivalent of sticking your tongue out at me. You called me Yellow to affect my manhood. The argument is now won. You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found........wanting. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 No I just call it down the line. Quote
yagersports Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 No I just call it down the line. No you don't, you pick the easy argument and want to claim you can somehow see something that everyone else can't. You've said the same thing every year as someone else posted and you've been wrong every year. A broken clock is right twice a day. You're that broken clock. Once again, if you're so right and you call it "down the line" whatever that means. Where are your supporters? Someone who has a strong argument will have supporters in one fashion or another. Where are yours? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 No I do call it down the line. See what I will say about the game last night. Quote
FlaccoForever Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 We can squash the Cedric Benson talk: "mortreport Chris Mortensen Cedric Benson is in Green Bay, expected to sign with #Packers, per sources 6 minutes ago Reply Retweet" Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 It is a good landing spot for him. Quote
