vmax
Attack. Attack! Attack! Joe said that he's tired of sitting on a lead. He's comming up on free agency....and you know... He just might be a handy guy to keep around!Factor in that the game has changed. It's a passing league and the Ravens D is....let's say...in transition.Something has to give. Something has to change for the Ravens to stay on top...and.... "Necessity is the Mother of Invention". Some of this change is not rocket science. Gradually over 5 yearsOzzie got the players. There is a strong group of receiving threats in Rice, Boldin, Smith, Jones, Pita, Dixon and yes...Leach.Joe can make all the throws....so logic says "Let him". Sometime during the off season, Caldwell made a simple observation on an obvious, but over looked fact: Joe was comfortable in, and played well in the shot gun/no huddle in college. He's comfortable doing that. Very comfortable. So Caldwell said, "Hey guys! How about letting Joe do what Joe does best? I worked with a guy who enjoyed doing that and was successfull....and I didn't forget how to run it." Harbaugh told Cam to open up the whole playbook. He wants Everything available for Joe. Everything. We're going "All Out" Last night Joe never took his foot of the gas. They had to sit him to stop from scoring. "Dum de Dum...no big deal. I throw. They catch." yagersports
Joe was brilliant and I think his release is faster than ever. With the addition of Caldwell I wonder if that's something they made a point to improve upon. Wait till Joe gets it going with Dickson. I think he's still a bit rusty. Once that guy gets it going it's going to be even more deadly.
cravnravn
Best part was, recall the failed attempt at the double reverse, where Boldin recovered it some 20 yards behind the line..In years past we would have been in second and 25 and we would have ran a draw to Rice for 3, then on 3rd down Joe would hit Heap for 8, then we punt.. NOTS NO MO

yagersports
That double reverse would have been executed beautifully if Boldin would have finished, there was alot of green for that WR.
cravnravn
Oh yeah, how about Torrey executing the end around, If only Travis could have done that

cravnravn
One other thing about Joe..You noticed when we had the ball, the place was eerie silent, thats the same thing that happens when Pay-A-Ton was in Indy..Hear a pin drop, but on D M&T is a LOUD place. RavenMad
The bomb to Torrey on the 1st play was a thing of beauty. It seems Joe has got better timing on those longer routes now. He was overthrowing WRs before but everytime he went long it looked like we would come down with it. That bodes well for the season.
