papasmurfbell Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 http://baltimore.cbs...yze-many-flaws/ “A work in progress,” Harbaugh said. “We’re not where we’ve been in the past, obviously. We’ve been a dominant run front. We’ve been able to play the run with seven in the box and pretty much dominate the run. We’re not there right now.” Is that like ants trying to take over the world is a work in progress? Quote
yagersports Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 What else should he say? Should he detail exactly how we're failing so that the opposition can more thoroughly take advantage of a weakness without having to put the study work in? Should he give up and state that there's just nothing left and move on? I don't get it, what does anyone want him to say? Should he state where he plans to make adjustments and the strategies he'll employ so that the opposition can quickly counter? Harbaugh has done nothing in the past to suggest that this isn't correctable. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 30, 2012 Author Posted October 30, 2012 Don't just say something weak like that. Say something to the effect of it has been a disaster so far but we are working on it. Quote
yagersports Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 A captain ensures the morale of his crew. You don't ensure morale by stating everything is a disaster. You state the obvious, things haven't gone the way we expected, and you determine a course of correction. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 31, 2012 Author Posted October 31, 2012 You also don't pussyfoot around stuff. He has been doing it for a very long time and it has done nothing to help the team get better. Quote
varaven45 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Papa, Good point. The apparent lack of urgency is quite frustrating. Case in point Giants HC Coughlin, upon sneaking out a W in Big D, expresses his anger and frustration over his teams lack of focus and attention to detail, even though they got the W. He was ticked over how sloppy they played down the stretch, rather than coddling his players over the W and talking about how they have to get better. Ya think ! Thats the kind of substance, discipline, and focus that seems to be missing from this team, this year. Its part of "IT" . Quote
yagersports Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 He took a team that was expected to be in the basement with a rookie QB to the AFC championship game. The next 3 years the team went to the playoffs each year winning a playoff game each year. They won the division and obtained a #2 seed. They were one dropped pass from the Super Bowl. Yeah you're right, he's definitely a pussy and hasn't accomplished anything. Me....I'll wait for Harbaugh because he's done nothing but succeed. Quote
