vmax Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 It is an NFL issue. They have viable options. Now that I understand this situation, I hold no grudge toward MLB or the Orioles.Wednesday is the best for night them.Friday and Saturday would be lower ratings because of the weekend. They'd lose the younger crowd.Wednesday is perfect.Get me in my purple seat.
cravnravn Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 You're wrong, every bar in America would have the Ravens game on ratings would go through the roof, on a Fri or Sat..More people wont watch the game on a Wednesday because of a work night..
dc. Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Ah right... so there's the reality... the lots all go to Ravens fans. Which is ... all of the lots. And O's fans have to park elsewhere... which on a regular weekday is ... no where if you don't have a lot permit in the first place. And most people are parked by 10am... which is still 2 hours after the regular business of the city is taking place, which solves no problems at all. And most people would be down there all day... except the ones who have jobs and need to go to work or simply don't want to spend 12 hours at the game, which, like most games, will be a solid 50% at minimum. And if you are going to add other non-game attractions - like a concert or anything else - that's only inviting even more non-game attendees in. Fun! Could you do something like the Ravens parade and invite 200,000 fans into the city on a single day? Sure. But even "organized" there is no good solution. It's just chaos.
OutsideRzAcE Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 They can't play on Friday or Saturday because of high school and college ball. On Garceau's radio show I think he said years ago the NFL made an agreement with congress to avoid Friday nights
cravnravn Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I know they cant play on Saturdays because of College Football, but I never heard about the Friday night banning too. I dont get what the big deal is, football at the high school level is nowhere as important as it is in Pa or Tx where High School Football is king, I dont even think their are any schools in Baltimore that have lights..Maybe Gilman does.
