cravnravn Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Well Ed, too bad money played the only part of your decision, you had your payday already, If you really wanted to remain here you would have accepted the Ravens offer. 1 Quote

You can't blame players for taking more money elsewhere (or not taking a paycut like Q). They put their bodies on the line and their football careers are over in their late 30's if they're lucky. They have to take advantage of their earning power while they can. Besides, loyalty should be a two way street and the Ravens were apparently not interested. Quote
cravnravn Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 We offered him a contract, he got his payday Quote
dc. Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Crav, it's times like these it becomes necessary to make this simple... did you spend your entire career with the same company? Quote

faaaaaaq Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I think the Ravens wanted Ed gone for the money he wanted to make. Oz lives and dies by "right player, right price." And Ed certainly deserves to make as much as he can. I don't really blame either side for this parting of the ways. I sure will miss Ed playing center field though. Quote
ForceEight Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'm pretty sure we never offered him a contract. It was more along the lines of telling him what we thought he was worth. Quote
