  1. Those were starters, men who played a lot of snaps, he is not. Could happen, sure, but he loves it here in Bmore, loves playing for the Ravens, so expect him to finish out here
  2. Number 4 & 35 this year, plus a 1 next year works for me
  3. Well today is the day when it can start, who will offer, what will they offer, will the Ravens match.
  4. His age for one
  5. Kirk Cousins reworked his deal to free up cap space. Yet another major guaranteed contract that had to be reworked for a team. Here is the next big question, If Lamar is signed, a year or two down the road, will he be willing to rework his deal as needed?
  6. Lamar-"People throw at the wall and hope it stick" Well, when, then man up and speak your mind like an adult, how much did the Ravens offer? It's gonna come out soon, it being the truth about what they offered and you turned down. Don't call people liars unless you can prove it.
  7. & Jackson’s reply to the latest Shefty story on the deal the Ravens offered
  8. FYI, the Bill's had to restructure both Allen's and Miller's deals to get under the cap and have some left over for free agents. All they, & the Browns are doing is kicking the can down the road in hopes of a much bigger salary cap. Like you, I hope that this soap opera ends soon one way or another
  9. More on what Lamar turned down last year, from Shefty..https://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2023/3/14/23639469/schefter-lamar-jackson-turned-down-200-million-guaranteed-deal-back-in-september-nfl-qb-news More information surrounding the contract offered to quarterback Lamar Jackson back in September has been reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on The Adam Schefter Podcast. According to reports, Jackson turned down a deal with $200 million in guaranteed money Chris Mortensen and I reported on this last September when Lamar Jackson was offered a deal that he turned down. A deal that included at the time he was offered $133 million due at signing,” Schefter said. “$133 million guaranteed. The contract also had injury guarantees that brought the guarantees to $175 million and it then had a springing guarantee that could’ve brought the value for the contract, the guaranteed money of the contract to $200 million in guarantees... and yes, those were the actual numbers and that was the situation. So those really were the guarantees for Lamar Jackson.
  10. It has to be two firsts, at the least. Yes, they, the Ravens can work out a sign and trade, for more than 2 1sts, but not less.
  11. Jimmy G off the board, so are the Raiders as far as Lamar is concerned. 3 years, 67 mil, 34 mil guaranteed
  12. Cambell released, saves the team $7 mil in cap space. I would be shocked if he were not resigned at a much lower number https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/calais-campbell-released-veteran-ravens-free-agency
  13. Gus's salary per CBS 2023 salary by about $1 million but gives him the opportunity to earn the money back via incentives, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. With his base salary dropping from $4.38 million to less than $3.5 million
  14. Food for thought. Because of the contract Watson got, the Browns were 12 or so mil over the cap. They, he and the team, agreed to a void year added and gave him more bonus money, lowering his cap hit this year, saving them some 20 or so mil in cap space, now they are 34 mil under. Problem, after this year, for the next 3 years, his cap hit will exceed $60 mil 🫨
  15. Wednesday is when we might find out, so waiting once again...
  16. I really hope the Commandos make a run at Lamar. He might be the piece that draws more money for the sale of the team. Ravens might get 2 1st and Sam Howell, who, in my opinion, would be great in Todd's system here, plus cheap, still on his rookie deal. Big, strong, accurate, great pocket presence, and yes, he can run. This would be a win-win for both teams. Take one of the firsts, get the wide out you need. Use the other to get more draft picks or also get Ringo. Man, a guy can dream, right
  17. Yeah, tells you that neither team was interested in Lamar, a rookie qb was more important, apparently, to the Panthers. That and the rookie deal that will help rebuild the team, though with not much draft picks...
  18. Wow, the Panthers got hosed on that trade with Chicago. I wonder, is the number one pick that expensive, the 9th pick, 2 other first round picks, a 2nd and a player? If so, would the Ravens take the 1st pick in exchange for Lamar? No, right?
  19. Jeff Z is reporting that the Gus Bus has agreed to rework his deal, supposing that his $5.6 mil cap hit will be lowered. No details as of yet by how much.
  20. Let the cap calisthenics begin, as they try to exercise the Lamar contract/ tag. First as we said earlier, Chuck Clarke is being traded, clearing about $4.1 mil from the cap. Now Micheal Pierce is taking a restructure, turning $2 mil in base salary into incentives, saves the team $2.6 mil roughly. These two moves leave the Ravens with needing to clear @ $3 mil more to be cap ready by the league year next week.
  21. Well, Lamar might be trying to make a case to be highly paid, but the Ravens tried numerous times to make him one of the highest paid. So let us be honest Lamar.. https://nypost.com/2023/03/10/lamar-jackson-breaks-silence-on-twitter-amid-ravens-franchise-tag-drama/

  23. An excellent article on this debacle as some would call it.. https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/lamar-jackson-ian-rapoport-variety-different-ways-contract By the time the NFL franchise tag deadline passed Tuesday afternoon, Lamar Jackson had been placed on the non-exclusive tag by the Ravens, and Daniel Jones and the New York Giants had reached an agreement on a contract extension. Jackson is set to earn $32.4 million next season, while Jones' average annual salary will be $40 million over the next four years. The contrasting outcomes prompted the following knee-jerk reaction on social media: How is it possible that a 26-year-old former NFL MVP didn't receive a long-term, lucrative contract but a quarterback with a significantly less impressive resume did?
  24. Clarke traded to Jets for 2024 7th round pick and a peanut butter samich with the Crust cut off...
  25. Mike Wilbon, a man I respect, one who I've enjoyed reading over the years and listening to, on his thoughts when asked about teams saying they have no interest in Lamar; "Tony, teams know what the Ravens offered, they know it was Not $120 (mil), not $140 (mil) but probably north of $180 (mil) in guarantees. Yes they are wealthy enough owners, but that doesn't mean they are wealthy enough to say yeah, we're wealthy enough to go north of $200 (mil) just because Cleveland did it." /quote As for me, I am sure some of these same teams will call Lamar, just to do their due diligence, that some of this is draft posturing, to keep those draft quarterbacks and price of those high draft picks, high...
