  1. No no no, run right at them, you out weigh them
  2. What a hit by Boykin, at least he was good for something
  3. I think the defense will need to win this game. Stanley back is the biggest piece, let's do this...
  4. Sans Lamar, both teams are going to be at full strength, this should be interesting
  5. That is difficult to believe, yet true. The problem comes when pts are counted in, capitalizing on those big plays. The tell tale is what is the rank for big play touchdowns? For the conversion of those big plays into touchdowns? My guess is that the Ravens would be near the bottom?
  6. Glad it was a charlie horse and nothing worse for Queen A little bengay, some massage (not from a business Kraft nor Watson recommends) and back to new...
  7. His apparent moodiness, his love of being a kid off of the field, illnesses that keep popping up, indecision on the field, even with the zone reads; he keeps when he should give, gives when he should keep. When to scramble when nothing is open, apparent inability to read a defense presnap/post snap... I don't think his best is behind him, I think he is just stuck between runner and pocket passer. He should get passed that glitch. But the money, I know, you either have to pay a qb big money or be stuck every 4-5 years looking for a new qb. Yes, there are potentials in the draft, I am partial to the kid from Kentucky, Levi's. A pro style offense, smart, quick, makes all of the throws and great touch. Odds, only 2 qbs in the draft will turn out to be a keeper. The rest are either a good back up or car salesmen. History tells us this.... Maybe the 4 missed games will do Lamar good, if he wants to stay here that is, maybe it will help him get over the Hump watching for a bit.
  8. If that happens, then the team has the answer as to whether or not to pay Lamar. I don't think Huntely is the long term answer, but I know that Lamar has left yards, points on the field by trying to be a pocket passer. I am curious to if Huntely can get more out of this offense, run when there is nothing there, get the ball out quickly
  9. People say things immediately after the game, win they are more positive, loss, more critical. But.. On Monday, Harbs called the trick play the worst he had ever seen. So perhaps they all sat down on Wednesday to talk about the play calls, the selection. But we don't know one way or another....
  10. Yeah I expect him to miss 3-4 games. I almost puked when I read the fluff piece on the Ravens site praising Roman for his adjustments in the game against the Broncos... Let us hope he adjusts properly in game as he did a few games ago for the first time in forever
  11. The rookie will throw 2 to the Ravens, will the Ravens catch them? Huntley will make a big mistake, will the defense bail him out? Will the line return to form, provide Huntley with a modicum of time? Special teams may be the difference, will they be special? A win puts the Steelers just about out of the play offs, 1 loss shy of having a losing season. Huntley lost last year, time for Revenge?
  12. Well, it isn't the way we want to see it, but for the next 2 games (?) we will get a look at Huntley with a full assortment of "weapons" and a defense that is far better, because of health, than the one he played with last year in his 1-3 starts. It will be a good test, albeit with Roman calling the plays, of how this offense can run with a qb not named Lamar, one not concerned with being a pocket passer. Just focused on moving the chains, with what ever it takes.
  13. What I want to see is evolution of the passing game. Instead of that stupid trick play why not... Line up two wide to the boundaries, Proche or Duv & Robinson giving the look of the wide receiver screen (that they did not use yesterday). Only instead of Duv/Proche blocking, they fake the block along with a pump fake from qb, and Duv/Proche goes long. Combine that with Andrews in tight, doing a deep crossing route to occupy the safety. An aggressive corner back like Surtain would/will bite on the screen, leaving Duv/Proche wide open.
  14. What's even more puzzling, a few games ago, after a dismal first half, Roman came out in the 2nd half with an incredible game plan. It worked like a charm,, we all praised him. But before that, and after that, bubkah. Yep, time to go.
  15. This line is actually better, much better than they played yesterday. They just had a very bad game, injuries caught up to them. We knee the rookie mountain would struggle with fast, small defensive ends. A good coach sees this and adjusts, and Roman did not adjust. Even the receivers are good enough, but using them properly, using routes designed to beat zones, get people open is the key. Roman does none of these things. As I said, this offense has gotten worse as the season has progressed, it is not as if the defenses have gotten better, quite the opposite in fact. Yes, the evidence is clear, even Harbs, the Biscuit have to see it, Roman has to go. Defenses are keeping their safeties with in 15 yards of the los, linebackers within 8. That makes it very difficult to run consistently. Before yesterday they would have to blitz to beat this offensive line, even then, the pass blocking held. The issue with the passing game was either poor route combos, or a qb who could not throw on time because he was confused, or could not throw accurately, leaving no yak. We saw proof of that at times yesterday. Huntley got the ball out quickly, timely, and accurately to provide yak. Is he the end all, certainly not. But he deserves a chance to show that this offense can score. You look at other games, Goff for crying out loud put up yards and points. Offenses see safeties 15 yards deep, linebackers 10, making it easier to not just run the ball, but have space for underneath routes, for yak. So that when there is a 5 yard pass, the receiver doesn't have 5 guys tackling him right away. The line will be fine, but they need help getting those back 7 to back off, it's all Roman.
  16. The offense was not going to be denied on the last drive. 2 4th down conversions, despite the coaches, every player showed true grit, where was John Wayne when you need him to kick the snot out of Roman..... The defense, came through, only giving up 9 pts, even with 2 turnovers by the offense. Good thing they played against the Broncos or else.. The coverage on their game ending drive, eek, 2 more yards and it would have been a loss...
  17. Thigh bruise for Queen, thankfully
  18. Robinson, love his effort, his steady hands, but man, on two of his catches as he tried to get every last yard possible, he had that ball swinging everywhere, I thought for sure a defender was going to knock it out. He also tends to, as do all of the receivers, drift his routes into other routes. This has to be addressed by the supposed miracle workers who work with our receivers. Not sold on them if they are the ones teaching how to run these pathetic routes. I mean who doesn't know that against zone, you run to and stay in the openings of a zone?
  19. Yeah, could just be a deep thigh bruise, Ala Charlie horse
  20. The ugliest of wins thanks to horrible play calling. A coach's job is to put his players in a position to succeed. Not having anyone chip on the left side to help your rookie tackle (who normally plays right tackle) is inexcusable. That reverse pass is speechless. Not running off the tackle the size of a mountain, pounding their smaller defensive tackles is just stupid. The offensive line for what ever reason could not pass block, I think they all had at least one pressure on them. I've never seen a line so bad and this line, this year was good. So what happened? Denver is not That good in the front 4. This offense has gotten worse as the season has progressed; Roman clearly has to go, sooner rather than later. Did you notice how quickly Huntley got the ball out? How receivers were able to get yak? I would love to see him get all of the first team reps this week and start next next week. Maybe Lamar can learn something. I do hope Lamar is not hurt badly.
  21. With a hit like that, I wonder if he broke his femur, not easy to do but his reaction scares me..
  22. I'm done for now. There is no reason to call that horribly run, obvious play especially against a team playing zone defense from that part of the field! They don't have to cover so much behind them because the end line is so close. Fire Roman after the game
  23. Hamilton is down again
  24. This game is over, Denver wins the only question is by how much
  25. Proof, final proof that Roman should be fired. You don't call that play when you are marching down the field for only the 2nd time in the game
