Ok, I'll play catch with you. I was not speaking about Ingram running the wild cat, that was just one play. They ran several other plays that were out of character with RG, and as I said in that thread; I understand wanting to skew tendencies, but you run the risk of breaking the rythem; which happened. Thanks. Lamar was making the wrong reads on a few read options; it happens, it is going to happen, every qb makes the wrong read from time to time. He also missed open receivers based on coverage, as I said in that thread. Come on over any time and I will pay fpr the NFL all 22 coverage and I will be happy to show you. Again, every qb does from time to time, no big deal. But you sir or madam, want to nit-pick me, no problem, I can play too. As I said in the game thread as it was happening, based on the coverage the Bills were playing, crossimg routes, flags, post routes would be open and all Lamar had to do was pick a matchup as he THEN did with Hurst. Brown was open also on that play and every play where he ran a deep post. The dbs were in man, playing outside leverage, Brown was easily running away from them and Lamar had time. He is young, no big deal, he trusts his tight ends more right now.

What a weird state we find our selves, this team in this time of year. A normal season I would say a short week favors the better team; Thursday games are yawners for the most part. Clearly the Ravens are the better team, but, everyone has one.... A nine game winning streak, let me type that again; a 9 game winning streak, following two wins where parts of the team did not play well, consistently. Over the holiday I told my sin in law I felt this, expected the Ravens to lose this game. A winning streak has to end, not even this magical season is going to have the Ravens win 14 games in a row, will it, can they? If Darnold gets time he can pick apart any defense. If the line doesn't block, not even Lamar will have a good enough game to win. I think this team has poured out a lot of energy these past 9 games, and a short week will test them too much. I think they just need some time off, a little rest & relaxtion. They will get a short one after this stupid Thursday night game. If they can stay focused and not get cute, Roman, they can lock up the div this week and be one game closer to another mini vaca with a first round bye.....

Sauron lured our clan into the trolls' den. The battle was tough and the war raged on. It was not easy battling their foe in their lair, so our clan would have to be smart & savy till the end. Some may not know that a troll cannot survive in the light. But our clan knew very well that if they faught with all of their might, together they could drag those northern trolls into the light. Against great resistance and though several of our clan were injured, our brave warriors overcame much and finished off their foe by letting the light shine through. So now our brave warriors stand above all, 11-2, nine victories in a row. The war rages on and the fights will get tougher, with short rest they must take on another who would try to steal their thunder. Will they be rested, how great will be the test? Our story continues, down come the Jets......

Forgive me, fresh off the game thoughts. Plays there to be made, decisions made that were bad, game plan on offense disappointing. As I said at the end, who care, they won, 9th in a row are you kidding me? 11-2, are you serious? I don't truly care what happens goung forward, this has been one of the best seasons this fan base has ever seen!

It should worry you; this is a trend. Defenses with the personnel are loading the box with 8, trying to stop the run, stretching out plays that go wide. If it is a pass, they drop back into zone underneath, man to the outside. This leaves the middle depth area clogged, but as we saw with Hurst, deeper crossing routes, posts, flags, open with a timely, accurate pass. I saw several times on replay where Brown or Roberts were open, in man coverage, 20 yards downfield, db trailing them to the outside. Lamar had time but chose to hold the ball and either throw short or run, get sacked. Teams will start doing this, sure, the pass to Hurst for 61 catch & run yards was a dagger, Brown was also open on a deep post pattern. So one pass out of 16 completions for 61, the other 14 for 81 yards; not good. Granted, 2 of those were less than 10 yard touchdown passes so there is that. More troubling as I said early was his decision making in handling the ball on the read option. Several times he kept it when he should have handed off for a much bigger gain. Also the play calling, as I said I could almost understand, just trying to help skew tendencies. However each time they tried to get cute it stopped a rythem, stopped a drive, cost a timeout, almost cost them a touchdown. In the end they won, any way how with a great defensive effort, lame penalties included. But this team has to get the defenses to back off and that only comes with consistent completed deep passes which this team has none. But who cares at this point, 11-2 what a season no matter what happens going forward.

The Ravens did not deserve this win, Lamar couldn't read the defense, was off target all day even with 3 td passes. Poor choices on the read option.... He wasn't helped with the play calling. The defense, was outstanding; I blame the late score and the almost score squarely on the offense, on the play calling. But a win on the road is a win. 11-2 who knew

I get why Roman is calling these foolish plays, I really do. Billick used to do this too to skew the stats, the habbits, to give the next opponent more to think about, prepare for, especially a team you play in 4 days. Or when you play a team you will likely face again this season. But really, at some point you have to just play.
