  1. If Katula is hurt, he really shouldn't be playing. Long snapper is too important of a position to play a guy hurt.
  2. Because Cousins is getting his ass handed to him over at RT. The chances of a sack/fumble/INT are pretty high with the kind of pressure Cousins is letting up.
  3. We are better off going for it if we are only going to get a 22-yard punt.
  4. Why are we passing so much?
  5. Good luck getting out of that one Ben.
  6. I don't understand how Ben does that. Any othe rQB and that is an INT.
  7. WASHINGTON! I LOVE IT!!
  8. RUN THE BALL!!! Our tackles are going to have trouble blocking the Pittsburgh rushers today, we need to run the ball.
  9. Cousins getting beat on that QB hit INT.
  10. Merry belated Christmas!
  11. Spear! Where have you been, buddy?
  12. The key word Harbaugh keeps using when talking about Cmac is "healthy". There is a reason Cmac was an injury waiver from the Saints. We need healthy bodies.
  13. Update on Webb: While it is encouraging to hear Harbaugh say Webb could be ready for training camp, realistically I would expect Webb to start the season on the PUP list. Houston Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson in 2007 tore his left ACL in Week 10 against the Raiders (November 7) and started 2008 on the PUP. The encouraging thing is that Robinson hit the ground running in Week 6 and was the same player as he was before the injury. Robinson plays a similar game to Webb, both guys are relatively undersized at 5'10" 184 and 175 pounds respectively, but play a lot bigger than their size. Robinson played 11 games in 2008, and has played in every game this season as one of the better CBs in the league. It also must be considered that Robinson tore his hamstring along with his ACL, so maybe that would entail a longer rehibilitation period. Nevertheless, I have no doubt in my mind Webb will continue his development into a very good corner in this league. Whether we have him Week 1 or Week 6 in 2010, we will be able to depend on Webb next season as a starting cornerback/nickelback.
  14. Well, it looks like McPhail did his research on Atkins and genuinely believes that Atkins has a solid chance of returning to 2006-2008 form. This is encouraging to hear:
  15. Wigginton was named the worst 3B of the decade by Rob Neyer: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=neyer_rob&id=4761290
  16. Like Aaron Wilson said, I think the main thing was that Cmac doesn't play special teams (something Webb did). And like said, I don't think Cmac was healthy. Remember, Cmac was an injury waiver from New Orleans.
  17. The latest on Webb's injury from Aaron Wilson on Twitter: Here is what Wilson said on Cmac: http://twitter.com/RavensInsider
  18. The key to the season has been the redzone offense. Like dc said, when you hold teams like the Bengals and Colts under 20 points, your offense has to score touchdowns, not field goals, to win these games. When we have been successfull in the redzone (our first four games and our last two), we have dominated teams (take away the Pats loss). But when we try and trade field goals with touchdowns, you cannot expect to win. Same case this week, we need to score in the redzone to beat the Steelers, no field goals.
  19. I like Ivy more than Walker and Carr, but I guess that is not saying much.
  20. Ben is licking his chops right now: "Who do I pass against, Ivy, Walker, or Carr?"
  21. Eric Green (V-Tech) was a guy I was hoping we would look in free agency. He was pretty solid for the Cards last season. I am not sure what happened with him this season though. He has been cut twice.
  22. I agree, bring Cmac back. He looked better than Walker and Carr during his stint with the Saints.
  23. I'll take the playoffs anyway we can get it, but I want a SWEEP OF THE STEELERS!!!!!!! Lets go 10-6!
  24. Good stuff max, but I am not ready to throw in the towell against Pittsburgh just yet! We NEED Ed Reed next week with the loss of Webb, and you can bet Ed will make every effort he can to play in this game. The other key is Demetrius Williams. Those back-to-back receptions in the third quarter were huge. The guy attacks the ball in the air and his TD catch was very Fitzgerald-esque, Joe threw it into double coverage and Demetrius bailed him out. It seems like every elite QB has that type of receiver, has ours been on the bench this whole season? Even more important are Williams has softs hands and actually uses them instead of body catching like Mason, Clayton, Washington, and Harper do. Williams knows how to use his body to box the defender out and then use his hands to make the catch near the sideline. He has the potential to be a complete receiver. We just need to give him the playing time and let him do his work on the sideline. We are banged up right now, but far from out of it. This team has already overcoe so much this season and will put it all out on the field on Sunday, you can believe that!
  25. I feel the exact same way max, I am a lot less optimistic about this season. At this point I am just hoping that Webb doesn't need surgery so he will be ready to go for next season. I was liking how Webb and Foxworth were looking together as well. Hey, maybe Harbaugh and company will put together a nice gameplan for next week and surprise us all, but my expectations are not very high. Sticking to the defensive side of the ball, I thought Ellerbe played very well yesterday. I think he joins Webb, McClain, Foxworth and possibly Zibby as young guys who have stepped up this season and proved that they belong here as starters or in an expanded role. Here is the bottom line when it comes to Pittsburgh: they are going to pass the ball no matter who is in the secondary or how good our pass rush is. The Packers had a consistent pass rush on Ben and one of the best secondaries in the league and it still didn't matter. Against the Steelers you have to play a bend, but don't break defense. They will get their passing yards, but when they get in the redzone you have to hold them to field goals. That is how we will have to beat the Steelers, by solid redzone defense.
