One Winning Drive: Bengals 17, Ravens 14: Blame Game
dc. replied to ExtremeRavens's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I think the answer is simple... if Rice doesn't make that play, this offense doesn't score. No doubt. Last year we succeeded by holding the ball for long periods of time late in games, minimizing opponent's opportunities... no today. Not often this year. -
Because the team that wants it more and has the sadder story wins every time? I mean, no doubt that's is a huge part of how well you all played... just not sure it won the game for you. Ravens acted like they hardly wanted to be there.
-
I think we were keeping more men on the line... but no clue where 3/4s of our offense was. In three letters: MIA.
-
What exactly was that call? Defensive illegal formation? With the explanation that Pryce "lined up over the center?" What does that even mean? I didn't know there were illegal defensive formations... you either are onside or you're offside... but the defense can be in any formation it wants last I knew.

I don't think Ray's hit was cheap or illegal. I think it looked far worse than it was. Would love to see the replays again to really find out. He hit Chad in the shoulders with his shoulders/arms (Ray was almost standing straight up), and the helmet went flying... which happens all the time on big hits, helmet contact or no. I don't think it was particularly late either... though not sure. The Walker/Reed interference was a bit lame, I think. The Carr interference was lame. The lack of interference on Chad was really lame... no, Steve Tasker, Chad got Fox's ARM not 'jarred the ball loose'

Don't come back until you take your f'n meds and learn how to keep your homer mouth shut.

Home game... most of our regs are at the game... meanwhile, i watch from the couch. Not happy about +4... but based on the numbers, I'll take it right now... OL is looking crappy... Oher and Yanda look lost.

Detroit holding on against Pitt... Boller being Boller against Minnesota... Giants "debacle-ing" the Raiders... Browns and Bills are as bad as ever...

Now that I would definitely agree with... perhaps we could make it a retractable dome stadium... with a removable field (like the one in arizona)... Ok... but really, a legitimate arena would be far more useful... would attract many more concerts, performances, etc... and if big enough could properly hold basketball, hockey, etc inside... though, no reason an outdoor facility couldn't do some of these things...

Step up for what? Limbaugh is a lot of things... but I don't think he's a racist. A lot of people agreed with his sentiment about McNabb at the time. Meanwhile, I'm sure there are many owners, execs, etc in the NFL and around leagues who are far worse than Limbaugh would be... but never a yap from players about that.

Crav... it's not about Pinky... he's toast... no way he gets near us right now... But in Sports... in Sports we are mere votes out of first. We were in 2nd to start the day (to Testudo)... then in first... now in second to Loss Column... that means all three blogs are closer than you can imagine. EVERY VOTE COUNTS

I believe it's Boller, but not sure. Meanwhile... hate to say that some of these stats are rather sad, even though we're a newer franchise. The Jamal record isn't bad. I just don't get excited over "second all time" and that kind of stuff... Clayton is almost our third best receiver all time? Kind of disappointing. He's the third best receiver on the team right now... maybe fourth. And we haven't had anyone better than him (or our present corps) in our history?

Welcome aboard. Deeeeeeep breath. Get to posting... Deep breath.

Did you really think it would be bill passes slots are here? Bill passes... slots must apply for permits... permits were accepted... builders must determine what and where to build... then they actually have to build. Only one part of that equation is the state's fault... the applying for permits. And that's been done for more than six months. So don't go acting like the state's entirely at fault here. The state can take plenty of fault in the slots fiasco... the biggest mistake being passing a bad bill... but the slow dredge is as much a problem of the economy right now as the state. Meanwhile... building a multi-sport complex would provide a huge boost to the economy if the project can get rolling. Construction is exactly how we want the government creating jobs... finance projects that provide jobs now and jobs/job opportunities later. The question is whether there is money to get the thing started. But imagine how many people, businesses, etc can be put into motion and into work with one, big stadium project...

American soccer just doesn't have a chance... but I think the United would do better in Bmore than DC. As for a stadium and its placement... Camden Yards was hardly a nice area when the ballpark was first put there...
-
Sad. Not going to speculate... but I hope this has nothing to do with his troubles right before the season that were part of what led him to be cut.

I would have to disagree with the spearing causing Gaither's injury... not even sure there was spearing. If there was, good thing it didn't hurt Joe. But Gaither was hurt by bad circumstance... it happens in football (pro, college, high school) many teams each year. As one player is going down, another is unlucky enough to fall into them (knee, chest, back, head) head-first and the head/neck take the brunt of it. Lucky Gaither is possibly ready to play, though.

BUMP! Still at #2 in Ravens!!! So close. Up to #5 in Sports as well!

Oy... more griping... O's open by playing 16 straight games... no off days. And thanks to playing Tuesday instead of Monday, not even that very early off day. Most teams get that at least. The Yanks get 3 off days in that same 16 day period. Sox get 2. !! haha
-
They talked more about it another time... Harrison went more in depth... but that one liner right there was clearly meant to be somewhat of a joke... some Pats fans are even saying Harrison's been so homer for the Pats, he had to dis them for some credibility.
-
OK... so first of all, the O's start away at TB... which I don't want to complain about... but I like to start at home. But on top of that... we start on Tuesday. When almost everyone else starts on Monday. I've never understood why some teams open Monday and some Tuesday (not counting the Sunday night game). I guess the league doesn't want everyone to have Tuesday off, but really, it should be mandated that opening day is a Monday and everyone plays then. Period. So we already get to wait an extra day. Then, on top of that, instead of starting 2 series on the road and returning for a Monday/Tuesday opener at home... we come straight home after three at TB. So our home opener is on a Friday. Probably an evening game, too. I am wondering if the O's requested that... as it almost guarantees a sell-out. But who wants to open in April at night? Give me spring time day time baseball dammit! Give me kids and parents taking off from school and work!!!
