  1. I don't think it hurts at all. He has threatened to retire twice under this contract. I do not see them giving him a long term deal after this contract is done. They would basically go yr to yr with him if they are smart. If you give him big upfront cash and he retires on you it is a death blow with the small caps.
  2. It is not an issue. They have made it very hard for another team to give Eric a job promotion. They have made it difficult for him to leave.
  3. And that stated before there are only 3 seasons where that era did not exist. 1994 the moder FA and cap was started. So thy did Mike Brown Suck ass from 1994-2002? You said he should be around 500 routinely and he was not.
  4. Then why is it that Mike Brown except for 3 seasons that predate the modern FA period has a .286 win percentage. If everyone can get to around .500 then why did he wait for Marvin to come to town to do it?
  5. You obviously know zero about the game.
  6. Willis and Bowman are better off the top of my head. I did not say Suggs was old. I think they should pay him. If they take his money I think the lockerroom will be pissed and they will be out for themselves.
  7. .286 winning percentage to a .491 percentage. That is a night and day change.
  8. The team has acknowledged he was working out. Also there is a bball court at the castle. So my letting old players go who have outlived their value to get younger would distroy the lockerroom but taking money from a guy who is in the middle of his big payday deal is just business. Please show me how that works?
  9. When did I say he routinely misses in the draft? Please show me the quote. I have said he should have dealt with a position but ignored it but I have always said he drafts very well. In 12 seasons Brown had 1 single 500 season but Marvin has had at least 500 2/3 of the time since he began coaching. Do you grasp how systemically different those results are?
  10. I do not see them doing it. That is a very bad precident to set in the lockerroom. He was working out to be ready for the season. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7930474/jason-peters-philadelphia-eagles-ruptured-achilles-again-report-says Jason Peters reinjures his achilles. He wasn't even healed form the first repture.
  11. Also there is the rookie wall and I have seen it happen. If he works out well come late nov he will really could start tailing off.
  12. Hey in the long run this might be the right move. Say they bite tthe bullet and don't perform well but get young guys set to run faster in the future. In 2013 a better picking postion continues the transition to the touth movement.
  13. The biggest problem that the Bengals have had is Mike Brown. He brings in crap. He is to cheap to have a real scouting dept. That is how they drafted dubious guys because they did not perform their due diligence in the pre draft investigating. Had Mike Brown been here in 1996 he would have drafted Phillips. He would have gone with what the pundits said was the right call.
  14. He needs a lot more work in the weight room before he is ready.
  15. Really 2 winning seasons. So he has won the div 2 times and made the playoffs last yr with a 9-7 record last yr. So how do you get 2 winning seasons?
  16. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-ravens-add-five-20120515,0,4762283.story Georgia TE Bruce Figgins This guy is 272 lbs. Maybe he is the blocking back the Ravens are searching for.
  17. Didn't he jump from DC to Cincy? Didn't Harbs take over the next season with some new players. Garrett did take over the same season right? So Marvin is responsible for all of Mike Browns poor decisions. He brought in a TO. He brought in many guys I know Marvin has said he didn't want. I said at the time that Marvin should not have taken the job there. He has done so much better than I ever expected. Cincy has been the place where coaches go to die. Marvin started there in 2003. 2003 8-8 2004 8-8 2005 11-5 2006 8-8 2007 7-9 2008 4-11 2009 10-6 2010 4-12 2011 9-7 So he is 6 out of 9 being at least 500. Marvin is rolling at .491. Looking at the time Mike Brown has been in charge before Marvin. 1991 3-13 1992 5-11 1993 3-13 1994 3-13 1995 7-9 1996 8-8 1997 7-9 1998 3-13 1999 4-12 2000 4-12 2001 6-10 2002 2-14 So he was able to fin 1 season of 500 ball in 12 yrs. So he is rolling at a .286 clip. I would say MArvin has made an appreciable difference in the Bengals.
  18. Hey how much of the offense were they running with Andy and AJ only having a few weeks to get it? How many more tricks will Andy, AJ, Gresham, Shipley, and Sanu have up their sleeves this season?
  19. Really. So when Wade Phillips went 1-7 with the Cowboys and Jason Garret went 5-3 with the same players it was all the players? Marvin has proven to be a great coach wherever he has been. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/rav/1996.htm So in 1996 a team with Ray Lewis the Ravens ranked 28th in points and 30th in yds allowed. Hey in 1996 there were only 30 teams so they were the worst D in the league with Ray Lewis. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/rav/1997.htm In 1997 they were 18th in its and 25th in yds. So they are getting better. But that is the yr Mac comes to town. So they are putting parts around Ray and the D gets better. Wow interesting concept.
  20. People were so happy that Ozzy inked he and Koch what last yr? It was considered a great move.
  21. Billick pissed all over that team and they quit.
  22. With the contract they gave him I think it might be tough to walk away from him.
  23. Rookies are not the guys if you want solid kicking. It usually takes a kicker at least 2 yrs to get solid.
